@korhan Actually you do need bass for death metal. Tell you what, go to a concert. Not even death metal, any concert. If the guitar stops playing for a second, probably won't be a big deal, so long as he gets back to it. Bass stops playing a second, everyone will boo and throw shit at the band. The bass is what keeps the song intact. It's actually the reason the songs are so heavy. Doesn't matter WHAT you do to a guitars sound. It will never be heavy enough alone. Bass is necessary for all metal

how can peeps say that you dont need bass for death metal? for those of us who havent noticed, there is bass in every, single, itty-bitty song we listen to. unless its like a solo vocalist. then there isnt any bass. thats the only exception. but in classical music, like pianists, there are the low keys. in instrumental (band) there is tuba, baritone, trombone, bass clarinets, bass and bari saxophones, and other types of bass. in all popular music, even rap, there is a bass player in the band.

id think (for death metal in this case) the bass should just be a thick sound with heavy distortion and overdrive and played very loud and slaps are ok but id use them for like bass solos only really and the bass belt should be way lower and head baninging involved definitly
