  • I got and built a few of the through hole (not surface mount) ones. They were circuit boards only, did not come with any parts. I used paper clips for the holders as shown in vid. They work okay, but sometimes I want to have one lit in room light, but the sensitivity is so high that it goes out. .Using the value specified for the trimpot, there is not much change in sensitivity from one extreme to the other. I found that putting black tape over the photocell took care of the problem.

    Sorry for my late reply. The light sensor (CDS) has so much variance in resistance, that if you did not use exactly the same one as mine, the circuit may not work as expected. It seems that yours has higher resistance than mine. CDS from Jameco CDS001-8001 is what I used.
