I think in my opinion I usually takes about 4 bowls to get rid of the burnt corn cob taste, you just need to start building up the tar around the bowl.
I liked MB Plumcake in the 90s but the actual blend I don't like any longer. Just got a new pouch a couple of weeks ago and can't believe that I really don't like it, yet.
The Patriot is a little lighter but the bowls are from what I can tell the same width & depth. However, the thin bits are prone to splitting, I had one split & cut my lip.
If you insist on getting a non-wood bottom MM Cob, just get the Country Gentleman
Hello, I like your videos with your corn cob pipes, I have the country Gent. and I am looking at the patriot, is the patriot bowl able to pack the same amount of tobac as the C.Gentleman? it the bowl lighter in weight on the patriot than the gent.? Thanks
Dissapointing to here that trying to dress up a cob takes away from it's smoking traits. You could hook a regular cob to a vacuum, and they won't "gurgle".
After a lot of smoking, the wet tobaccos are the only ones that gurgle. I've found that the general rule of drying out tobacco for smoking in cobs works for these too.

That Hackert cob looks great! I think it was Plumcake that REALLY put me off aromatics ... I've heard it needs to be puffed, barely. Interesting vid!
