@EponymousKid and @pacomonkey007, I agree. Actually, I think all the other voices are okay or pretty good like Sena and Mamori, but Hiruma's is out of place. I'd like him to sound more evil and tricky... but this guy just sounds like a punk or frat boy.

And too bad about the splicing :( I actually was going to judge this anime based on the voice acting from when Hiruma tosses Sena around and tricks him into giving up his house number. :P

The only english that fits the voice of any of the characters is Sena's it fits very well. Hiruma's english voice just doesn't fit his diabolical sneaky devilish personality that the original japan voice has.

It's a pity that the show has been canceled by Sentai Filmworks. Although they haven't given an official statement regarding it, it's assumed that low sales might have been contributed to such a decision. Nowadays anime distribution companies are really unwilling to take the risk by licensing long series that might not sell. Instead, we are getting more and more short and low quality but full of fanservice craps.

@SunSparkle129 Yes it is a dub.It was on Toonsmi Jetsream for a while intill the website shut down.And to answer your question,it was dubbed by a studio called Sentai Fillmworks and the dub was payed for by NFL Rush,but then NFL Rush was shut down,and there are no more dub of ES21,only official subs.

That said, let me see... I'm not going to razz the voices for not sounding exactly like the Japanese, but I agree, Hiruma doesn't sound quite right. I actually don't mind Kurita's voice that much; I sort of like it more than the childlike voice from the original.

I'm holding out hope that this show will get a new, complete dub one of these days.

Apparently what happened with this was, on the mandate of the licensors, they spliced scenes from a handful of episodes together to make a five-episode "pilot" of sorts. So, yeah, they cut stuff, but they literally had no choice.

It's a shame the show didn't get picked up, though, seriously. The anime may not be half as good as the manga and all, but... it's football. It's dying to be in English. Inazuma Eleven got released in Europe, why can't we have this?

yea I like Hirumas voice in the Japanese version. To be honest, he sounds too old while in the Japanese version he sounds of about the appropriate age. While reading the manga before watching the anime, I even used a similar voice in my head lol. It just sounds more realistic as ironic as it sounds.
