USA have the best developed sport industry in the world, they are ranked first in the olimpic medals table of all time, no country has so well developed sport clubs and facilities operating at schools and universities DESPITE THE FACT THEY EAT IN MCDONALDS. Yeah, you won and drew to them...but it was in world cup 2002 qualifications if my math is right! Poland beaten England in 1973, does it mean we're now better than them? No. And you also have very little chances of beating Russia.

The most of american people don't move and do sports enough. Of course they have the best developed sport industry in the world, but that doesn't make them the sportiest nation, nor does the olimpic medals. There are some good athletes in America, with the best conditions for training(that's the reason there are some people who make it). But there's 300 milion people in america.

Doesn't matter whether or not most Americans are fat. They, as a nation, have good results in sport and that's what counts. If you reject results, how else do you want to measure whether or not a particular counrtry is sporty? Comparing achievements to population? No. I don't think that it works that way.

Don't count your chickens before they' ve hatched. Besides, I was wrong about the exact score but, in contrast to you, I was right that Russia would win. And I must admit that I was surprised to see that Russia had let such a poor team as yours score a goal. "we almost tied.." - "almost" makes a HUGE difference. I'm not saying it's IMPOSSIBLE for you to qualify. I'm just saying it's very unlikely and that Russia is a definite favourite even though their will play away.

LeWandowski is not "whatever" but a lot better player than Acimovic, Ceh or something like that. He was a star of the UEFA cup 2009 final. Ok, he said so...so what? What was he suppose to say? That you are loosers and it's a shameful thing to lose to you? It's a diplomatic rule that players never criticize or look down on another one in interviews. Don't believe in every thing you hear on media. BTW, Slovakia DID have luck to beat us.

I'm not saying we're suddenly one of the best teams in europe, but I'm sure we can play against any team and tie or win. For example... We played England in London 4 days before they played Croatia(5-1)... we lost 2-1, and one of their goals was a penalty, which was faked by Rooney(search it on youtube).

The world football is characterized by strong stratification. It's very difficult to become a good team.Within last 20 years only Turkey managed to do that.If you muck up at the next year's WC yesterday's winning won't mean anything.You remember that,don't you?In 2001 you beaten Romania(in theory,better than you) and at the very WC you ended up in the last place in the group and your dream was over.There's much for U to prove that your success is because your good and not for some other reasons.

You're mixing 2 things:-a good team and a team with tradition of playing good football
We're not a team with tradition(that's our third time in the big competition). We only "exist" for 18 years. Of course you can't consider us a team with tradition of playing good football. But RIGHT NOW, we have a GOOD TEAM(not gr8 individuals, but great team spirit).

I think you are looking for the confirmation of your team's class where it isn't. England never does its best in friendly games.I don't know what happend to Russia yesterday but to kick it out isn't enough to say wheter or not you're good or have chances next year. At WC there will be a lot of teams much better than Russia. Therefore for the moment I would bet a penny on you or Slovakia. And that's it.You have your opinion and I have mine.Celebrate your succes. If you have, for example... a group of 10 people, and than there is another group of 100 people... They compete against each other. Do you think that's fair?

Meaningless debate what's the point who have better HDP or who've got more participations on Euro or WC.

As for the economy - were the only Eu country with positive GDP. Polish is the head of the European Parlament. Poland startet democratic changes behind the iron courtain. In sport - I said you were lucky in general that Poland is completely out of shape at present. You were better in that particular game. But, to look objectively, Poland has better players(you were only at 2 tournamnets, we were at 8!)

slopri - I don't know exactly what you actually mean by "3X of your incomes per person" and I don't know wheter it's true or not, but even if it is(I know Slovenia is the richest Balkan country) it is only one aspect. There are many others. Like sport, politics, history. I don't know any Slovenian as famous as Lech Wałęsa, John Paul the second, Jan III Sobieski(I bet You don't know who he was).

Sports: We've had like 20 olympic medals in 15 years time, which is quite good for such a SMALL country. We were the SMALLEST country ever to qualify to a football world cup in 2002. We were second in handball euro.
We were 4th at EUROBASKET2009 this year in Poland, while you were, as a host country only 9th... and so on.

Wow, I see, you deal a lot with Poland. Out of the Slovaks you listed I only know the last three ones. I know Warhol had slovak roots but i didn't know that so did Newman:) I don't look down on any nation, I only claim that the achievments of Slovenia as a country aren't too impressive. It's annoying that Luke mentions the camp issue. It looks as if Poles were building those nazi camps. After all, the very name suggests that they were buit by nazis themselves.

I was in Poland numerous times as it was beautiful Krakow or dull Warszawa. I also visited Auschwitz-Birkenau KL´s and from that time I know that Poles never call this camps in polish names, only in german. Poland cooperated with Hitler before WW2, but what happened later placed Poland among worst destroyed countries by nazism. Therefore I was surprised when I saw heiling Pole towards one Jew in Bratislava before the match between our countries..

As for sport - we were much ahead of you in the medal table at 2008 Olimpics and at this year's World Championships in Athletics. Don't even try to compare polish and slovenian football. Our Jakub Błaszczykowski has more skills than 22 slovenian players! I'm saying it despite the fact you qualified and we didn't. You were extremely lucky but you in sport you can't rely on luck.
