He took over Black Sabbath after Ozzy left, then went off with his own band, Dio, in the early 80's. He was also the one who started that heavy metal hand sign (you know; two middle fingers down, index & pinky fingers up). Unfortunately, he died last of stomach cancer.

I just don't think so; What song do you think even comes cloes? I don't hear it in any of Gackt's more popular songs, maybe NPSNGS from Malice Mizer, but then again they aren't exactly the same genre. Gackt has a very distinguished voice, but Mikaru has a slightly deeper if not more nasal-like voice and different singing style as well as different accents. The singing style is more like L'arc en Ciel or To Destiny, but the genres are nothing alike. I still like DIO better, though.

@MakiRevolution Yes, they disbanded. And there's been talk of them returning with a new name. Mikaru will of course be in the new band, and I've heard also Kei would be. Erina and Ivy won't be in it, and about Denka I am not sure of. The new band might be named "DIGRAS". (They had one live gig.)
