  • I forgot how good this was - it was a great show!

  • dave at his best

  • a triumph of personality over practise and talent

  • Great track, met Swarb after a Fairport gig in the 70s when I was a teenager and he very kindly let me try his violin! nice guy great player!

  • that is awful, save the screetch fiddle for the bluegrass they like that kinda crap

  • My congrats to Dave Swarbrick for keeping the beat going when the audience participation was behind the beat. Been there and I know how hard it is. Dave's variations of Mason's Apron are very amazing!

  • Fantastic !!

  • Each to their own. I was raised on this stuff since the womb and still harbour a secret desire for Simon Nicholl ;-)

  • It's hard to believe Dave Pegg left Jethro Tull to stay with this band. I don't doubt Fairport's talent, but this is definitely not my type of music. I can't imagine Jethro Tull without Ian Anderson. Tull would probably sound like these guys without Ian Anderson. I would've never bought a Tull Album or CD if they sounded like these guys. Dave Pegg is definitely the most talented of them all.

  • I disagree with every word, i cant imagine Fairport Convention without Dave Pegg, and as for him being the most talented, he is talented for sure, but you have Richard Thompson and Dave Swarbrick, two of the most talented musicians in the world on the same stage.

Richard Thompson is the best Guitarist to ever come out of England, his Knowledge of the instrument is unsurpassed

Obviously not your type of music.

I only had a couple of Jethro Tull albums,

i own every Fairport album. and Thompsons.

  • @MITCHWILD with the greatest of respect, that's a couple too many.

  • Thanks for taping and posting these clips. Some great playing by Dave Swarbrick and Richard Thompson.

  • The tunes are Jenny's Chickens & The Masons Apron

  • Thank you, Patzu. I'll change the name.

  • how odd that fiddle player looks just like my dad

  • good one grebbie!

  • Reports of Swarbs death are way exaggerated! Cool to seem him so full of life and playing so well.
