  • Skip to 1:40 is you wanna hear some music instead of intro talk ;-)

  • @DJMartijnKuilema why would u wanna do that this is a tutorial

  • @YUMYDUBSTEP Cause you're talking 100 seconds about what you're gonna do... You could also just do it and do the explaining while you're doing it ;-)

  • this bass reminds me of Haezer

  • @sweftboy101 Haezer is sick too.

  • this sounds like skrillex (my name is skrillex) album. its very close to that, but not the same as skrillex' dub-electro music or "dubstep" anyways love this track and love skrillex too

  • yeah this doesn't sound like skrillex the baseline doesn't capture skrillex sound its not grimy at all but its still pretty cool

  • I fucking luv it

  • i love how you make all these videos and not a god damn one of them shows us at all how to even start making anything....

  • i want to do that in Logic :(

  • NO!

  • its more like the glitch mob

  • sounds amazing <3

  • Its not encouraging for someone to join when even the tutor of the course cant make something that sounds good, anyone can learn the technical aspects, its about how it sounds

  • Not Skrillex, more Dirtyloud, Wolfgang, and Mord Fustang. Typical Electro House, or Complextro as the hip kids call it.

  • This is exactly how you do Skrillex basslines. You guys obviously don't realize that Skrillex makes his own sounds, ya know, that Sonic Academy DOESN'T have. They are showing you the method, you make sounds that accompany it. Jee

  • Electro hoish

  • electr hoishe lol

  • brian spence! please can you please give me a link to this actual tutorial on your website, thanks :)

  • rock and roll (will take you to the mountain) definitely had some influences

    -sarcasm-sarcasm-sarcasm-sarcasm-

  • All you did was hit play. Explain some shit...

  • @TheDownAndOutKS Absolutely.

  • are you from Belfast? I'm from Meath, is there any irish online production communities that you know of that are any good? cheers mate

  • Don't see why Skrillex is in the title..doesn't sound anything like him. On a more positive note, good glitch/hard house! I'm digging it!

  • @MetamorphDubstep this is the skrillex sound from when this video was made. his stuff like slats slats slats and the like sounded a bit like this, but yes it is good glitchy house

  • this is really bad man....confusion, no concept, a jike basically, and b t w, a tutorial is when u explain something

  • @ricklebon1 this is an intro to a range of different tutorials on how to make it ya knob

  • listen to the final vid sktechy but pretty close

  • split da biass

  • It does kinda sound like Skrillex.. and btw this is an introduction to the tutorial not the whole thing, that's why nothing is being explained

  • @TheWeirdTechGuy Not really.

    I do like it though.

  • everyone is saying it sounds like he's copying skrillex. you understand that skrillex's sound is a mash up of basically all the key editing techniques from the different genres? skrillex did not invent this style he just added the dubstep in and everyone fell head over heels for it. that heavy edit sound has been around. listen to anything off of "jackson and his computer band" and you'll hear what sounds like skrillex editing sans the wobble basses.justice took their sound from that album too.

  • Check out my bloody beetroots warp remix, its sorta like skrillex :S

  • skip to 1:40 to cut the talking

  • it's far from the "dementia" that are Skrillex's basslines, but rather cool nonetheless...

  • @RCabrinha bro check out my warp remix and tell me what you think of my bass :)

  • don't listen to skrillex, but as it is, I thought this sounded pretty good

  • How the hell is this a tutorial? He just played a track and talked about it.

  • @lardcarcass My thoughts exactly.

  • @lardcarcass wrong. this is the introduction to a tutorial by sonic academy that you can register for and buy online.

  • Comment removed

  • sounds a bit like rock N roll

  • @Fever655 exactly. It sounds like he tried to copy rock n roll will take you to the mountain

  • eh thats to tame for skrillex man. He is like out there all over the place in your face. If music had a beserker mode it would be skrillex and you didnt realy show that through this tutorial.

  • maybe he was recreating the one from his remix of "seventeen" because it is a lot like this

  • lmao

  • @conortallsheehan you have to go subscribe to them they did part 1 week ago theyre putting the next part up this friday hopefully

  • Way to repetitive. Listen to any skrillex songs and none of them have a sound repeating as frequent as this one. Doesn't sound like you put in much effort at all here

  • @naDsIemaNyM Its a lesson that hasnt been finished yet that is the first sequence they made its not done

  • this is bad

  • automation and fx.. No good

  • i knew there was a reason i subscribed look forward to seeing this unfold

  • i really dont think youve captured the skrillex bass sound at all

  • @1000Errors he wasnt trying to get the skrillex bass tone hes trying to show song structure with multiple bass tones like skrillex does but not try to imitate the same skrillex sound...as showing techniques to distortion

  • @1000Errors He's right. It's more Justice than Skrillex.

  • @1000Errors its more of how to make a skrillex style sound not the bass, learn how to read

  • @1000Errors Its a hell of a lot closer than ive been able to get in the past

  • @1000Errors

I feel you man this is honestly a pathetic attempt at not only the Skrillex sound but electro/glitchy house in general. Precisely why i never paid for the sonic academy "classes".

  • @doctorbrown26 check out a channel called nzmusic and/or mr bill on youtube for some decent tutorials. and they're free!

  • @1000Errors i think its menna be based on his type of music, not exactly skrillex

  • @1000Errors how can this comment have so many likes of course he has its like the bass in rock n roll

  • @1000Errors i think the sound he had sounds kinda like skrillex.

  • @1000Errors it's almost the same exact bassline as Skrillex's "Rock N' Roll (Will Take You To The Mountain), so it kind of is. But you're right, it's not like any of Skrillex's signature growls like in "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites.

  • @1000Errors

when you follow the tutorial (7+ hours of instruction) on the sonic academy website, you learn this as the basics and you end up making a electro-house / dubstep track. Once armed with the knowledge you learn from that tutorial, you can make all the skrillex-style music you want but learning all the tips and techniques on how compose and arrange a track, how to master its sounds, and catching a novice up to speed is the aim of this video. I've been at this a week and its worth it

  • @1000Errors than listen to skrillex this is a sharkatak fool !

  • @Liukangzombie Perhaps you should learn to write a sentence that actually makes sense before calling me a fool. ;)

  • @1000Errors it sounds similar to skrillex.

  • @1000Errors Isn't supposed to sound exactly like Skrillex,..

  • @1000Errors its not the sound its the method of chopping the sound to make it glichy its similar to how he makes music but the synths arnt the same but the method is similar,

  • @1000Errors hes just missing a saucige fattner XD

  • @1000Errors it sounds sort of like early skrillex, but you're right it's not quite the same

  • Awesomeeee.

  • skrillex baby

  • its simply chopped n screwed?

  • @nn8nn for this style it's far more easier to convert midi to wave and chop it up, than to do it all in midi which would take longer to finish and also working with audio has some effects of which you can't do with midi which is mostly used in this style of music

  • @LemonBoiLehclox - yup, like reverb that stops dead when switching 'glitches' - makes it sound like it actually is 'chopped' up

  • @LemonBoiLehclox True m8. make midi sounds, wobbles ets, diferent speeds, and variations, sync to tempo, than convert them to wave to chop it and play with it. thats how skrillex workin.

  • its too repetetive

  • awesome! always wanted to know how to sound like Wolfgang Gartner, Porter Robinson, and Skrillex

  • This is awesome.
