i went on korean airlines last month and id have to say, it was THE best plane i have ever been on. and i travel all the time. the food, seats, movies, the screen, and the best were the flight attendentsthey were super polite, and like the hottest flight attendents i have ever seen. then i went on southwestern airlines and the flight attendents were like old and teenage moms lol it sucked.

Iam starting to learn Korean because during annoucement, "FA DIRECTIVES" suggest that Air Pacific should do it in English, Fijian, Fiji-Hindi and Japanese. The requirement isnt like it used to be. On a recent flight one of the FA's needed to stand on the side of the seat to reach the over head compartments.
i kind of like it how they kept the hair in a traditional korean way. (all except for the blue hair clip) although the blue hair clip resembles the korean hair ornament thats traditionally used.
Hi Bertzzang. Evidence that the job is not easy is the attrition rate of FAs. For some, they enjoy the lifestyle and stay at the job for a long time while for many others a few years is enough. That's why the airlines are always having to have big hiring campaigns for FAs every few years.
Finally, the lifestyle ages you quickly as after 1 year, the glamour of travel is gone and it is just a job. I'm not saying it is a bad job but jst be aware there is a downside as well.
Be careful what you wish for. My wife worked for 5 years as an FA in Asia. The flip side that is never discussed is the unglamourous side. Dealing with drunken perverted men thinking they have the right to touch and abuse you. Dealing with unruly passengers who think just because they paid for their ticket, it gives them the right to act like an ass. Finally dealing with supervisors who have no business managing people because they are abusive to their staff.
bertzzang, i have that problem too!!! im too tall and sum airlines have height restrictions. dont give up!!! try applying for some regional airlines, they tend to use smaller and usually require fa`s with a height min which is not that tall!!
At least 5'3" for most Asian airlines like THAI, EVA, Etihad, etc. But JAL needs only 5'1" and, China Airlines, Asiana & Korean Air need 5'4". I wanna be a FA too but I'm only 5'2" ha ha ha.

I, personally, would say that Korean Air has the most beautiful FAs among the other dozen different airlines I have traveled on. SQ is not even close. However, when it comes to height requirement, I have to disagree with you. I'm 5'11", and I have seen so many Korean Air FAs only reach my shoulder (with their shoes on), or a bit higher. I would value more the contribution that a FA can offer the company than the appearance.

I agree. Asiana, Korean both provide top service
However it's a bit more pricy than other airlines.
Still I think it's worth paying.

Man,I luv Korean air stewardess,so humble and cute these days.There was a time when i refused to eat dinner on the plane,she smiled and giggled and ask me whether i want anything else.Later,she came over and gave me an ice cream.WTF YO!!

its not really discriminating, its just that they have to reach for certain stuff i.e. in cases of emergencies, like switches perhaps.
if you can reach those, then no prob, you'll get in.

The requirement isnt like it used to be. On a recent flight one of the FA's needed to stand on the side of the seat to reach the over head compartments.

i kind of like it how they kept the hair in a traditional korean way. (all except for the blue hair clip) although the blue hair clip resembles the korean hair ornament thats traditionally used.

Hi Bertzzang. Evidence that the job is not easy is the attrition rate of FAs. For some, they enjoy the lifestyle and stay at the job for a long time while for many others a few years is enough. That's why the airlines are always having to have big hiring campaigns for FAs every few years.

Finally, the lifestyle ages you quickly as after 1 year, the glamour of travel is gone and it is just a job. I'm not saying it is a bad job but jst be aware there is a downside as well.

Be careful what you wish for. My wife worked for 5 years as an FA in Asia. The flip side that is never discussed is the unglamourous side. Dealing with drunken perverted men thinking they have the right to touch and abuse you. Dealing with unruly passengers who think just because they paid for their ticket, it gives them the right to act like an ass. Finally dealing with supervisors who have no business managing people because they are abusive to their staff.

bertzzang, i have that problem too!!! im too tall and sum airlines have height restrictions. dont give up!!! try applying for some regional airlines, they tend to use smaller and usually require fa`s with a height min which is not that tall!!

At least 5'3" for most Asian airlines like THAI, EVA, Etihad, etc. But JAL needs only 5'1" and, China Airlines, Asiana & Korean Air need 5'4". I wanna be a FA too but I'm only 5'2" ha ha ha.

Its ok...Pauline...There is nothing in height...unfortunately training school does not have any scale to measure how greater a person's heart is to get into FA post.

Thanks for the correction. I just read about the height required for THAI like...2 days ago. They used to required 5'3" but it said the next recruitment will be 5'4"

You may not be as tall, but hell, I am sure you are that pretty or more. How do I know? I was there in 2002, for a month, all over the peninsula and every single woman I saw: short, tall, skinny, fat, rich, poor, young, old, etc. had that special cuteness. Way to go, b'zang.

I just love the over-coat for Korean Air crews. It makes the crews looks prettier and softer than they already are. Wander when the western airlines will take the "Equal Employment Opportunity" law off.

well korean air is hard to get in. because u have to be pretty and tall. however if you speak both english and korean fluently it would be an advantage. also you can try for AA, or other american airlines. because as we all know they dont have any standards in hotness

I, personally, would say that Korean Air has the most beautiful FAs among the other dozen different airlines I have traveled on. SQ is not even close. However, when it comes to height requirement, I have to disagree with you. I'm 5'11", and I have seen so many Korean Air FAs only reach my shoulder (with their shoes on), or a bit higher. I would value more the contribution that a FA can offer the company than the appearance.
I'm no Korean, but I'd say, "Korean Air rules!" ^^
