@raahr well a sidearmers' curve usually doesn't break as much as a pitcher throwing over hand. when you throw over hand you are giving it a high release point that the ball works with to go down. when you throw it from the side its getting more of a "slide" effect this guy is getting it from the left side of the plate to the right, its not really curving but more sliding across. its still an effective strikeout pitch to get left handed hitters to swing out of the zone.

your movement on your breaking ball all depend on your arm slot.....overhand is like 12-6 curve 3/4 delivery more like 1-7 curve and the side arm is a slider guyy.....soo its not a bad curvee...its more of a slider.....soo id put slider ,slurve and curveball...all in one word.....BREAKING BALL...you wont see a side arm guy with a 12-6 curvee....

@JDMtegra sidearm 12-6 curve? Look up old school Pedro Martinez. It's not only your arm slot. There is more to it and you can throw a 12-6 break from a sidearm slot. I throw a 12-6 from a 3/4 arm slot. Not everyone fits into the mold.

And even if it was a slider, how is it awful exactly? good location, starts in the strike zone and late action that makes it run outside. Guys fish for that kind of pitch. If you are a pitcher you must at least know that.

Theirs people of different, sizes, and builds, and experience. Also genetics can all make a difference in the speed people throw. Like leg strength, arm strength etc.

@forumrider7c Like the other guy said, it's abotu the person. Some people have more natural arm speed. Also, some people have stronger muscles. Others use their body better. Tim Lincecum is tiny but he is so flexible he uses his body's power to get speed.

Other guys muscle the ball more, like Roger Clemens, etc. It's just a personality thing mostly I think.
