Coach is it really true that some "slow twitch" muscles can decrease your vertical,my friend said to me that his dad told to him that if you are jogging that slow twitch" muscles will become stronger and you will use onlly them in is it really true?
im guilty of this because i love blocking people lol. i find that if i stay grounded more often that im less likely to get called for the foul and they wont get around me as easy, just as it was said in the vid. thanks for the tip
@imawsomeness1 you still contest the shot, but you don't jump on the fake. A contested shot with hands in their face is tough to make. If you jump up, you may block them, but chances are VERY good you'll foul them.
@imawsomeness1 If you belly up to the shooter it is very bothersome on their shot. This technique is called "Walling Up" and this keeps you from fouling the shooter, but makes it more difficult for them to make the shot. Get Belly-Button to Belly-Button on them!
thanks this video brought my average blocks from 7 to 8 a game to 9 to 10 a game. its epic. i get triple doubles in middle school ball like its nothing. next year comes highschool and i only hope i can compete
@xbox360pro1263 You can compete if you just spend the time to develop your game. Don't expect that it will "JUST BE THERE" on day one. It is all about you spending time on those fundamental skills!!!!!
@clownx5 if you're putting tons of pressure on them, but staying on the floor, you'll be much more effective than getting up in the air and fouling them. You might get a block, but chances are good that you'll foul them.
@sanjiblue1 Do not go for fakes! Stay on the floor. You will not get caught up in the air and then creating a foul! Blocking is over-rated and often leads to senseless fouls.
Hey Nice video, but how did you make the tv behind you ? Please tell me,I really need this.I have green screen, but i don't know how to make the TV.Please tell me.Please please please, please :(
@gingshot we are really into "rejection" of shots as they more often than not end up in a foul putting the player on the line or a turn-over especially on those who are taller than you. Learning to steal is all about timing you attempt when the ball is placed where you can get a touch on it. Something you have to learn for yourself.
@bletma281 we'll give it a short shot here, but might be stuff we'll cover down the road in more detail.
1. Just have to let it go. If you don't you'll sabotage your next one. Losing sucks, but you can't let it get to you enough to mess up your next opportunity. Let it be the fuel to play great your next game.
2. Stay wide, fill the lanes, make hard cuts from the wings, more to come.
3. If you're dribbling and not going somewhere specifically, then you're over-dribbling.
i'd like to see some tips for post players or wing players, if you already have some that i missed, please tell me! thanks for all the help shot science!
@ShotScience How about video of advanced finishing moves? I'm 175cm and I'm playing against 30 cm taller guys than me so those regular finishes won't work for me. How small guards finish. Well I have watched example how aquille carr finish, but is there some technique for those.
/watch?v=QKqpaDoRVFI
Move at 0.19 and 1.25
Is there any keys for that? It feels very hard to perform if I have any kind of speed. So should I try to stop momentum and jump to for getting balance or keep moving?
@quechuharoify We suppose that you are asking about the center jump to begin the game. The usual problem in this setting is that you wait to jump. You really need to anticipate the toss and jump a little early. This is when you win the jump.
thanks Shot science, im 16, Does lifting weights to improve vertical affects Height growth? im in doubt because i want a high vertical but still grow taller. Im 5'10 but when I jump I im just 1-2 inches away from tipping the ring.
great tips! i watch this channel all the time. 12 days of tip-mas is a great way to help kids play better basketball with short but effective tips! you guys should also do them more often and not just for the holidays
@HoopsCook35 thanks so much for all the kindness!! We plan on breaking out a lot of new ideas in the new year. That probably includes another run of tips at some point ;-)
@Spleex78 we might do something similar on occasion, but it's TOUGH to edit a video every day! Lots more content will be coming out from us though ;-)
@KingOfCod9988 thanks so much!! We wanted to do something special for all you players out there that support us and help us grow! So glad the response has been so positive! Thanks so much for the comment!!
