well my advice-try to AVOID. when i got my Sony Ericsson s500i phone i loved it, but in the upcoming January i noticed a vibrating sound in the back, even when i turned the phone off it continued a few weeks later i took it to the place i bought it to try and get it fixed and i still dont have it. my advice-if you want to waist your money on this phone go ahead...but if i were you i stay the hell away from ANY Sony Ericsson phone!

u forgot to show how to flash the phone... without flashing it wont work, because the shockwave objects arent in the phone's registry... if u would show, how to flash and how to install e.g. walkman/musicplayer themes, many people wouldn't ask: WHY DOESN'T IT WORK?!?? ;)

The Sony Ericsson S500i is a stunningly beautiful slide phone, available in green, yellow, copper & purple. but my advice is to avoid, there company is falling apart and every Sony Ericsson phone my family has had has broken, so please stay the hell away from them!!

Its my second SE (and my 3rd handy :D ) i had before the J100i (it has NOTHING only a bit colour^^) and i still have it and it often fell on the road... ITS NOT ANYWAY DAMAGED!!!!!!!!!

and my phone now is not new... i bougt it a year ago and it still is like i bougt it :D nothing damaged or sth... only the display was broken (because it fell onto a sharp stone :( ) but NO handydisplay would be @once after such a stone c(:

I like SE and i'll still buy it... i think SE is BETTER than the iphone or LG or NOKIA or samsung etc... the only nad thing is: the cheap handys are really shit (like the W205 or w200)

and SE is very expensive... the W995 costs here up to 350$ and more...

my flash themes arent working.. whenever i change a theme, the menu and stuff is always the same, no matter what themes i have it set on! can anyone please help me? is it not meant to make major changed to the menu.. like the actual icons changing shape? also, mines always in grid view.. how do i get it so its just one big icon, and you have to press left and right to change the icon to get into the other menus?

at the start of this vid you mention that you mention that you need permission to use sony apis, what functionality do these apis give you? The last couple of hours I have been having a look at the flashlite apis and it seems that the color and picture changing can be done with that. Are you able to control the lights on the phone with this "special" api ?

Search "s500 Disassembly" or "s500 repair" in youtube. An almost similar model to disassemble is the w580, both phones are almost identical in the disassembly process. The only difference in the two phones is a few features regarding blutooth, themes and a few other features, and of course the housing and look of the phone. I know this! I have my w580 with an s500 housing and keypad installed! fits 100% perfectly, my opinion the s500 looks nicer and no doubt the w580 has better features.
