Didn't this film have a Scutosaurus in it? I always thought that was an odd animal to have in a film. At least they were pretty diverse in those days, nowadays you can't walk without fear of tripping over Tyrannosaurs and 'raptors.
You mean the animal in the crystalized cave, with smog machine etc. I know that as a bradysaurus and it was a reptile than a dinosaur;like people think Dimetrodons were dinos too in "JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH" c1959 and they were Permian reptiles, but you do have a point the dinosaurs were diversified and films tried not to have the same thing in it's films from it's predecessors.
To the above poster it sounds like you're describing THE LAST DINOSAUR (1977) starring Richard Boone and Joan Van Ark. It was a US-Japan co-production.
Thanx for posting! I am so glad someone else remembers this movie! Do you remember another movie about a millionaire who hunts a dinosaur in on an island surrounded by ice or something and he gets there via a machine that tunnels underground?
It may confuse people because Sarah Douglas was taking pictures and Joan Van Ark was also in "THE LAST DINOSAUR" and both were dino films but two different periods-"PEOPLE THAT TIME FORGOT' in 1917 and "LAST DINOSAUR' in modern day circa 1977. I know it confused my older cousin. She thought "LAST" was "PEOPLE."
"Elegant trash" as Harlan Ellison would say. And hot cave girls. Can never have too many of those!

Great stuff. I really liked Sarah Douglas in this. She should have had a whole career playing that type of character.

Im not knocking it in any way...but Patrick Wayne just did'nt have the same kind of heroic appeal as Doug McClure.

Same here! I always enjoyed all the Doug McClure scifi/fantasy flicks. In this particular film, I LOVE British actress Sarah Douglas.
