  • please answear me, is it the original cabinets witg restauration, or, you do a replica using emulators? i want do do like the original, using emulators, can you help me?

  • Is it legal to have daphne emulators accepting quarters? I thought emulators were for home use only? this is news to me.

  • @cmoneyboise Ultracade and other MAME units have been around for years, even Dave and Busters has them. Sarge explains it all in the video. The games still have all the boards and score counters, the laserdiscs have been replaced with Daphne. That way the games run almost 100% of the time and don't break down just by giving them a dirty look. Gary (Funspot's Manager) can tell you horror stories of trying to run those machines at a busy arcade.

  • @PressStartComic Yes I understand that daphne clearly is more reliable, I m just wondering where you draw the line. If someone makes an exact replica dragons lair cabinet can they run Daphne and put it in their business. What if you find a completely gutted dragons lair cabinet on craigslist can you run Daphne and charge people? And I know that mame has been around for years but you cannot put mame machines in businesses and charge people. Ultracade yes mame No. D and B does not use Mame

  • Looks like Dragon's Lair, and Space Ace don't have the attract scenes...whats up with that?

  • Both games have the attract scenes, I know full well because both of them are turned up really loud and I like to play the Gunsmoke. cab that's in front of Space Ace.

  • @PressStartComic Sgt Jamma, I want to book my next birthday party at your arcade. Your place is awsome and you are right, most of the game s you pointed out as always on the fritz were always on the fritz. i got to place space ace like once in its original run.

  • Did the original machines have black screens in between sequences on the Laserdisc games?

Or is that because of Daphne and loading times with PC's.

  • Yeah, in some cases the load times were worse back in the day. The biggest problem with laser disks was the way they were pressed. Air gets into the disk and destroys them over time. So many of the old games hardly work anymore. Thankfully for Daphne, all the games are there and work flawlessly.

  • May I suggest a decent microphone for the next equipment upgrade cycle ?

  • Yes, we are working on getting a wireless mic. A decent one is pricey but well worth it for group interviews, distant sound recording, and to get rid of the tape hiss.

  • sgt JAMMA is cool, looking forward to more vids

  • He seems like a nice addition to the arcade hunters. :)

  • Does anybody remeber starcade the game show.

  • man you guys always do such great work, always a treat to see a new video.

  • daphne is amazing!!

  • That is great you guys are upgrading to new equipment, and getting new people to be on the show. Was that Space Invaders the Sliver Anniversary Edition? I saw one of those 2 days ago at a Dave and Busters in Texas.

  • No need, they have both Qix and Space Invaders as well as Space Invaders Deluxe at FunSpot.

The new 20th Anniversary machines of Space Invaders/Qix and Pac-Man,Mrs. Pac-Man/ Galaga are great, but the screens they use are terrible. You get really bad "ghosting" of the screen and your better off playing the machines from 20 plus years ago if you have a chance.

  • I have played an original Ms. Pac-Man arcade. The speed of the game was set to high. I like the game at that speed anyways. From what I saw the 20th ann machines looked okay. No ghosting on the ones you mentioned. I believe you though.
