@xxmichixxVIDEOS Okay, the axis of symmetry is a vertical line. It can't be drawn on a calculator because the calculator graphs functions and a vertical line is not a function.
Nevertheless, the equation for the axis of symmetry is x = -b/2a = x-coordinate of the vertex. So, if you find the vertex it'll be the x-value of the vertex and then x = that number
@xxmichixxVIDEOS Hmm.. if it's a graphing tool, I'd guess that it'd let you click on the "line" graphing tool, and then you can select a couple points on the vertical line that would be the axis of symmetry.
@Brendalica So, I'm betting they want you to write each one of them separately with commas. I'd use the "view an example" feature and click "continue" until you reach the very end... see how the computer puts the answers, that should be what you'll do for your problem.
How do you make a vertex line..that only has one point..

@xxmichixxVIDEOS I'm not sure what you mean, a parabola only has one vertex and it's a POINT. Do you mean the axis of symmetry?

@tuckeyalanaj
Yes that's what I mean. Sorry it's just been 3 hours now and I can't figure it out :)

Hi, I meant how do you do it using the systems graphing tool. I had math HW that asked for it. It keeps saying Im wrong./

@tuckeyalanaj Sorry! Yes that's what I meant.
It's been 3 hours now and Im getting really frustrated.
It just does not work :)

Thank you for your suggestions,
so finally I have figured out what format of the answer they expect.
For example if the answer is positive and negative square root of 25, they expect to enter x= -5,5.
To figure this out it took me a whole day and contacting 5 different sources.
Hope someone finds this helpful.

@Brendalica
My understanding is that this is the common practice for a +- problem entry, -#, #.
Again, if you're stuck use the "view an example" thing to help figure out entry method.

so when I enter +- and then result, it keeps telling me that it is correct but in incorrect form, so i'm getting wrong answers marked.
I'm referring to homework in section 8.1 and on, if the helps in algebra.
Good advise on how to redo the homework and correct the score. I went back and fixed all my previous work :) got 100% on everything

I find it impossible to enter sign +/- sign. There is no way to do that.
Brendalica 3 months ago
@Brendalica Right, that's not possible due to problems with html coding I believe... You'll always have to type them both separately.
