general midi, ILS, koma & bones, soul of man, Dylan Rhymes, plump djs, shiloh, crystal method, hybrid, hyper, elite force, lee coombs, the breakfastaz

  • Digital Base!!!!!!

  • @achuchablee My favourites are Hybrid and Plump DJs, the first have a more progressive and orchestral sound, the second more funky and warped.

  • @achuchablee

Dude if you want breaks - Plump DJ's, FreQ Nasty, Rennie Pilgrem, Stanton Warriors, you can check out the Y4K series of mix albums, Krafty Kuts, Soul of Man, Freestylers... also check out some Breakspoll recordings if you can - it's an annual awards ceremony for breakbeat in the UK, the artists put on a sick set.

  • nice^^

  • My head keeps turnin' turnin'

    Like Russian roulette

    Thoughts are like bullets

    I cannot do this

  • the term "BREAKBEAT" comes from early hiphop deejays realising that the crowd only danced on the "BREAKS" ie, the solos, riffs, drum rolls or chorus'....

they soon realised if they mixed these parts non-stop, then.... NON STOP PARTY PEOPLE!!!

  • dopeskwyd you are so right my friend, at last someone who knows

  • first things first, electro is 180 degrees from what people these days are talking. the electro house fags are throwing the term "electro" around like it in some way refers to their cheesy 4/4 pop dance club shyt...........that, my friends, is NOT electro

  • Agreed with you bro!

  • i belive in the teory of the pulse in the track and the way of live of the sounds, the pulse is given by a fraction and repetitive fast sounds, if the pulse is given by a trable sound it can be more external, if the pulse is given by a bass sound it can be more internal.

  • my HHEEEAAAADDDDD¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • Simply Brilliant!

  • of course its break beat!

  • \m/

  • deep base, love it

  • so good...crystal method played this last year at Rothbury so fucking sick

  • this song reminds me of massive atack :)..great tune though..even if i`m more of a electro-techno type.

  • electro like its finest! yezzzz...

  • it's breaks

  • how do you recognize? whats the difference?

seriously asking, im not into this genre

  • first of all general midi is mostly a breaks producer and u usually recognize it from the beat

  • i assumed its from the beat, but how do the beat pattern of breaks and electreo differn in general?

  • the electro beat is much more regular, and when i mean a break is irregular i don't mean it's just random it still has its structure which repeats every certain number of beats

  • i think from all i know about these similar genres, i can recognize Breaks for a reason, I dont know why, or what pattern to identify in it, but this one for example does sound Breaks to me.

not sure how to recognize electro itself

Probably I just recognize or feel the break in this that's why. (my love is DnB)

some1 mentioned breakbeat, its anything but that haha

  • you probably feel it cause a breakbeat often is a little bit like slower dnb rythm (with a little bit more accent on the kick). electro has a normal repetitive rythm. just sometimes it's not so evident if it's breaks or electro, but mostly it is for example if you listen to some pure breaks from deekline or stanton warriors you'll notice that immediately

  • yeah I know breakbeat and its similarity in tempo to dnb - after all both broken beats.

i'll check out some stanton warriors to see what u mean

  • as a dj and producer this is the distinction as i see it..

electro is a rolling beat as it always has a boom hit boom hit.

breaks (although using very similar sounds as electro) have a different pattern. they can be all over the place and doesnt roll smoothly like a typical techno/electro/dance beat. its more "broken". hence the name of the genre.

but they arent completely random either.. listen to Punk by Ferry Corsten. the middle of the song is breaks. and the rest is a rolling beat

  • Punk was a great example indeed - my favorite track from Corsten, and now I sew what you mean, Electro's straightforward rolling beat

  • I thought it was called breaks, short for breakbeats... which is the beats from breaks in old style 50s songs like the Amen break?

  • electro is more about synthesized drums. While this is also true for breakbeat, some of the drum sounds may be sampled.

  • This is so fucking awesome. S.E.R.I.O.U.S.L.Y. A.W.E.S.O.M.E!!!

  • I love this sound >>

  • This is a feckin great remix! Props to GM

  • The louder the better with this one. If your subs don't look like they are having seizures then its not loud enough.

  • So sick

  • well done..respect general midi and Noisia too

  • i'm going to see General Midi tonight!!!

  • hahaha.. can I come???

    I simply love general MIDI

  • Love you Moby - you're a genius!!

  • This remix is baddasss!

  • I can't get this out of my head, it's stuck in there.

  • dirtyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • SICK. Love this stuff.

  • Noisia remix was pretty dissapoiting but This is phat

  • Noisia remix was pretty dissapoiting ?? DUDE SHUT THE FUCK UP!!! Noisia remix was one one the best remixes ive ever heard, simply bloody amazing... No waords can discribe how sick that is. Trhis is also really really sick and im very impressed with this :D. I advise everyone to chek out the Noisia remix of this track after this and you'll see why my reaction was so harsh to Deeza112's comment.

  • It all depends on your preference of music. DnB is alright with me, but I'm a house junkie born and breed... That means, I'm obviously going to like this remix better than the Noisia remix. I'm not saying its bad, just saying its not my style. Besides, I like my DnB jazzier than that track.

That said, this track ownz. Yet another great remix by General MIDI

  • This isnt DnB, this is breakbeat

  • I was saying that the Noisia Remix is DnB.

And this track is Electro House. I dont hear one breakbeat in this track.

  • this is definitely NOT breakbeat. this is a rolling beat. so its more electro house or progressive house. break beat is stopping beats. where it doesnt roll and its all random and shit.. reason its called BREAKbeat. i personally hate it. stuff that rolls like this is fucking sick and OWNS breakbeat music.

  • this is the best example of Electro HOUSE!!@!

    i like it n_n

  • MIDI is badass...

  • Yeah I like this!!!

  • Boombox 34

  • so what on boombox 34 its a bad ass track

  • I know, it's a great song on a great station.

  • i like noisia remix better

  • like it

  • very nice..try also alice(drop the lime - heavy bass remix) ;)

  • great breaks

  • i like dis one better than the noisia rmx

  • I like it!
