@hpspeedster I agree with you on that. I guess Aaron Spelling also tried to justify this show as being a Starsky & Hutch update. I have this pilot movie on VHS when it was on Movie Plex. I actually enjoyed it. Also (Vic Morrow) their Captain was like their Uncle Jesse.

Actually,BAD CATS was a poor attempt to create a Dukes of Hazzard competitor.It came out in 1980,1 year after Dukes.It featured 2 race car drivers,like Dukes.It had a "souped up" race car to catch the bad guys (like General Lee),it had a near kissin cousin in Sunshine who was dolled up an awful lot like Daisy Duke.However,they tweaked it a bit.While the Dukes were sorta breaking the law,BAD CATS were breaking it,to enforce it.Guess it was considered more grown up (like Knight Rider).

Basically a attempt at a new starsky and hutch . michelle did alot for this show, but it was not strong enough to gain a fan base like starsky and hutch. even after they painted the car.
