does anyone know what this style of music is? not the bollywood part so much. but the music? i know quentin tarantino uses this style alot. is it bossa nova? idk
@TheNOSTALGICDECAY its an old Bollywood style where they were trying to come up with a music on which people can dance.Definitely its western but with an Indian touch so that song will go down well with Indians who were still not ready for western style. you can find this kind of music from 50's till 70's of Indian movies.one of the ways to show high class and rich Indians in the movies.Story based on people from poor background or from village had old traditional melody songs.
Wish the sound was clearer, but still this captures it better, the actual song is a bit long (This was actually from a Horror-Thriller Movie based on an Agatha Christie novel... "wikipedia" jeje). COOL POST!!
Actually, all the songs in this film are fantastic (and the film highly entertaining although not exactly a masterpiece of plotting). And Ted Lyons & His Cubs are in several other movies from the era too. The choreographer was Herman, who is also the singer (lip-synching to Rafi's voice) and the dancer in the gold dress is Laxmi Chhaya who acted/danced in a number of films through the 60s-70s.
Ghost World is the best among the rest... :)

I feel like Thora Birch was a big inspiration for Daria.

@Hellomiso She came after Daria. Her roles were very Dariaesque, many female characters in 90s indie culture had that stock persona.
