  • Nice roof. how popular is slate and tile roofing over there. its all we use in england.

  • I like the planks you have on roof to work from, how have you fixed them to roof? would be illegal in uk,

  • Their called slaters brackets.

    Part of the bracket is slotted to permit catching on a nail, this part is thin enough to slide under the corses of slate and can be hooked on a nail.

    I'm sure they use a similar bracket in the UK.

  • @jnjoblon Yes they are called irons or heels over here, but have a sharp point which is hammered through the sarking boards and into the trusses
