Tragic for the people involved. What can we do to prevent more tragic events like this? If a person who has not finished their development into a fully grown adult we need to protect them from themselves. This is a terrible story, but my personal opinion is that someone at the age of 14 should not be prosecuted as an adult, especially considering the circumstances. The sad thing is that this could have been avoided, and while they should definitely teach tolerance and self restraint I feel as though schools should focus more on academics rather than social experimentation in general. While we all wish for more understanding and tolerance, the fact is there is much progression to be made.

Brandon shooting King in the head was NOT acceptable at all, but he's a 14 year old boy, you shouldn't expect him to think everything through before he does it, not many people do!
