  • 3:50ish AGD riff is in 7/4, not 4/4

  • You don't need the rock instruments. It could be done with just the orchestra. However, this is the best attempt I have seen for an orchestra to do Rush!

  • support the public school music programs!

  • Tempo is off, drummer needs work but very awesome to see strings!

  • man, the crowd was about to go wild! i wish the video was a little longer so we could hear that!

  • Hey, your director has great taste :)

  • Stop trying to improve Peart's track. It cant be done, and your double bass sounds stupid and overdone. Rest of the band was good though!

  • @SMSinger91 Agreed.

  • How do you get into this band? Can I join your school? :D

  • the band leader must have needed a cigarette after the school gave him the ok to do this song.

  • Ok, that guitar player needs to learn how to play in a major A pentatonic scale. I'm sorry but that solo blows and shames the song.

  • I wonder if Rush has seen this. Who knows, I could be one of them.

  • Cool!

  • Drummer was like "we're platying what for our recital"???

  • This is fantastic! Hats off to the band director for honoring a legendary band and teaching a new generation what good music sounds like.

  • well, almost all the band was awesome... I´m drummer and I´ll play this song to go to the university, and I wanna say something about your drummer: This is Rush, progressive rock, not brutal death metal. You´re doing too much, overdoing things, often can ruin the good, instead of improving it. In addition, there are many important things in the original song by Neil Peart that are badly needed in their interpretation. If you were less exaggerated, it would have been fantastic. Sorry just opinion

  • nice try. need some lasers....more lasers. And more cowbells.

  • Awesome rendition! Tempo off at beginning though, and guitar player needs to "nail" the lead.. and NOT give his interpretation! Rush needs to give serious consideration to performong with a symphony like Styx & Metalica!

  • @2kosher LOL, why bother!

They already create more music as three musicians than most full orchestras can produce.

  • i think drum player was doing too much. my oppinion

  • Congratulations. My favourite track by my very favourite band of all time. Played very well by everyone! What a great music teacher too. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Bravo!!

  • And when they came out they said "electronic drums would wipe out acoustic drums"....FAIL

  • Not bad.....not bad at all

  • Another great arrangement of a rock song for strings. This is super-awesome.

  • the orchestra was great the drums were out of time at some points

  • wow that sucked

  • This was freaking awesome!!! Way cooler than the crap we played in Jazz Band when I was in high school. Nice to hear my favorite Rush tune played by an orchestra. Great Job!!!!

  • This is awesome! I'm hedging the band teacher might have "enjoyed" a few shows in his younger "daze."

  • that was really cool ...

  • COOLEST FUCKING HIGH SCHOOL BAND EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! It doesn't hurt that this is my FAVORITE single song of all time, {and I am a DJ and love LOTS of songs} and RUSH is my very favorite band, but I had no idea that a high school band would play it, and do it VERY WELL!! I love the Li'l Rush band off to the left, too! I think that this director is a genius for leading these students to such an inspirational talent , that is, R U S H ! ! ! Good job, Steven!! Which one are you???

  • wind....in my hair....shifting and drifting...mechanical music....ADRENALINE SURGE !!!

  • This is the coolest HS Orchestra I've EVER seen.... You should be happy to have had a director who exposed you to this music....

  • wicked try! Been listening to Rush for 30 years and this put a smile on my face

  • A brave and meritorious attempt, which in my view just doesn't work.

  • I Wish my school was like that! Instead my schools band director made the band play the halo theme song...

  • I would love this sort of thing at a HS performance. It's compelling.

  • that bass player is thinking, "Oh God, I'm Geddy for a day!"

  • change the drummer...boring guy

  • Hey thats really awesome!

  • damn that was incredible!

I love Rush one of my fav bands

and for it to get a classical treatment like this,

    it's just awesome!

  • Besides the fact the electronic drums are there solely to piss me off. It was one the most interesting things on this site. ( I hate electronic drums so I don't see that as a detrimental factor)

  • I am thinking the electronic drums were to control volume balance. acoustic drums would have been loud and can overpower the strings. The cymbals are doing a good of bding loud as it is. I would like to hear an actual orchestral version of this, where the lower strings can actually play the right bass parts.

  • Sounded better when your there and it was amazing

  • great great rendition. the drummers pads lag a little bit though

  • Great arrangement. Tempo was out of hand though.

  • one of the greatest songs ever composed....becoming the NEW Classical Music...great perfomance....congratulations for such refined musical taste

  • That was incredible, thanks for the ride!

  • incredible

  • That was great ;)

hopefully we will end up playing that.
