I think the tie symbolizes the falsehood of being on top: he is forced to act bigger than he really is . . . and eventually it leads to his demise (as he hangs himself with it). He is also force to carry around another burden in the stool for the tie to be even functional (i.e. so it doesn't hit the ground).

Yes of course. I made a little research and I have found out that the number 237 symbolises something like "escaping". Unfortunately, it is hard to translate but I'm sure you can figure it out yourself. The only way of escaping from that life for him was committing a suicide.

He can't find fulfillment in his job or family, there's no meaning in his life.

Well, this entire video is based on Symbolism.

For example, in the beginning, the elevators symbolise him being stuck on the same floor, and when he is the one who is doing the work (Pressing the buttons), when they open, his collegues get in the elevator (Job promotion) instead of him.
