I actually enjoyed this movie, although I do find it sad that the entire "love story" portion is based on Susan falling in love with a man's exterior alone. Yeah, the man is sex on a stick...but his awkwardness should of canceled that out a bit.

Brad Pitt is just awful at his job, so wooden and one dimensional. Watching his movies it becomes painfully obvious that if he hadn't been so fortunate in the genetic lottery, he would be a complete unknown. Still, credit where it's due, he's quite good at being hit by moving vehicles.

@st0gey Well, to look at it from the point of view of one person looking at another person, true, he was very stiff in this movie, but that isn't because of his acting skills... But considering his role, Death, a being who has no idea how it is to be human, how to act with people, how to converse with other humans... I feel he did a wonderful job making Death a likeable character. Hell, I wanna meet Death now (hopefully while he's on his break).

Anthony Hopkins character in this film is one of such a kind, gracious and loving man. To the point, he will make your heart melt, in his love for his family. You will fall in love with the man. You cant not!.

For this, he wins best actor of all, usurping DiNero, no mean feat.

He played Hannible Lechter.

Need I say more. I have loved and feared him both.

Love wins hands down, what a talent.

I thank him for what he has given to us.

You should see the ending. But basically on the 65th birthday, Anthony Hopkin's character agrees to go with Black and simply leaves the party quietly heading over a bridge in the garden and disappearing. The daughter is a bit suspicious and heads there only to meet a human looking version of Joe Black.

Yes...well I don't recall "Death"/Pitt actually taking over an actual living Joe Black, so either you can think that "Death" manifesting a human form to show himself to Hopkins + daughter and then produced a human form of Joe Black to pursue a relationship with this human, or I believe more that there was a Joe Black existing and revives the human that was Joe Black. Strange I know. But nobody knows Pitt/Black so you are welcome to think either way. Seeing is better than me telling.

I don't see anyone saying anything about how great "12 Monkeys" was. Brad Pitt and Bruce Willis in that movie is just classic. In fact go see all of Terry Gilliam's films. All classic edgy and very believable.

This movie was not a flop. When you're coming out next to hits like "Titanic" it's hard to be as impressive without special effects. The storytelling was masterful, the pace was patient, the acting was superb. And if you don't like my opinion, fuck off grasshopper!
