Very well put -It's not often that a movie brings out real human emotions and passion on this level! This a statement movie as well as movie about everyone of us! Stone did this in two earlier movies as well-Salvador and Talk Radio-thanks for your comments everyone!

There’s no way a studio like Universal Pictures would ever pony up tens-of-millions of dollars to make a movie about a disabled war veteran in today’s climate of risk aversion. You can’t even sign on a big star to get a film like this greenlit because the studios aren’t interested in story anymore; they just want high-concept. Real shame.

Cruise should have won the Oscar for his performance in this. Oliver Stone can direct the hell out of a scene when he's firing on all cylinders like he did with this clip. It’s an amazing movie that’s as much about war as it is humanity and hurt. This is a masterpiece.
