  • Nice video. What kind of material is that?

  • Hello Polenar,

The PE Fiber is Polyethylene fibre, also called ultra high molecular weight polyethylene fibre, is characterized by its extremely high tenacity, high modulus of elasticity, low density and high energy absorption. It is 15 times stronger than steel and 40% stronger than aramid, yet so light that can float on water, presenting infinite possibilities for a wide spectrum of applications. Such as body armor, ballistic helmet, armoured vehicle and cut-resistant gloves

  • Thank you for your answer.

Isnt this material similar to Spectra?

Is this plate in the video NIJ level III or NIJ level VI resistant?

This PE Fiber plates seem quite impressive because they can resist multiple hits and eliminate the possibility of ricochets.

  • Hello again Polenar,

The plate meets and exceds the NIJ level 3. No it it is not NIJ level 4 resistant. The plate is 25mm thick and is Stand Alone. We have a 20mm plate but you must wear a threat level 3a vest to stop the rounds you have seen regarding the GAV-PE Plate. Wearing the GAV-PE Plate 25mm and the threat level 3a vest gives you the added peice of mind of protection.
