paintings pretty hard here in canada ssince the airsoft guns have to have the orange tip and have to be clear unless you have paper work for your gun but i still paint my airsoft guns but i leave the orange tip hope i dont have trouble with the cops.

i used a can of rustoleum plastic primer, and a cheap can of flat/ matte black, you can never tell it was originally clear. the results are great, especially if you let it cure and dont rush it!

@Streamlid At walmart theres a m4 style gun automatic but it is 100$ you have a red dot sight, a handgrip and a hand gun(the m4 is 300fps). Or at canadian tire there is a m4 style gun but spring action it is 50$ and it shot 320fps...

@Streamlid check ou tthe local gun shows. they usually have fair airsoft guns for a low price. I got an m4 with tac rails, acog scope, removable carrying handle, and a laser, for about 30 dollars. The gun is plastic, but it lasted me about 4 years..

By the way, the matte finish is called lacquer, clear coat, finishing compound, etc.

Good video! I've been painting everything I touch since I was like 10, and airsoft is no exception :P

Also, a tip to a lot of people: If you're trying to get a good result with any type of camo, airbrush is the way to go if you have one.

the matt stuff is called varnish, its like wood varnish but designed to protect plastics and metals from damage, the matt meaning it wont leave a glossy finish

primer is the base layer to help make the paint stick you might not think it doesnt do anything but it does it helps if you want your paint job to last, along with a sealer your paint is going to last a long long time

Primer is for the paint which is base coat or decorations to bond with the plastic better. So in other words Primer helps the paint stay on better.

If you disassemble the gun before you paint it, you won't have that problem. I did that with my ICS M4 when I painted it in some sort of desert camo.

I left the barrel, the R.I.S. system, the magazine-catch, the dustcover and some other small parts black because I like it that way, ha ha!

However, should some paint get inside the recievers or the gearbox, I don't think that will be a problem. But my tip would be to disassemble the weapon just to be shure. :)
