But the exile in Babylon was not experienced by the 10 Northern Tribes. The exile in Babylon (see book of Jeremiah) was only experienced by the southern kingdom of Judah (3 tribes of Judah, Benjamin, and Levi). Therefore, one must conclude that this "square" script was NEVER a part of the script of the 10 Northern tribes. The 10 Northern tribes were scattered to the 4 corners of the earth after the Assyrian captivity, which was about 135 years prior to the Babylonian capt. of the South.

I'm really tired of these "black israelites" and their blatant racism! They come on every video pertaining to Hebraic culture and it is quite annoying. These people don't even speak Hebrew let alone truly practice Judaism. Don't get me wrong, there are some Africans that are actually Hebrew through culture and through DNA but overall the Hebrews were Semites which is where the Arabic races come from. Perhaps it should be nebtioned that the talmusd itself discusses the topic of the the two distinct forms of script used by the ancient hebrews in tractate megillah. It is possible that the square script was specifically used for sacred literature only fue to it's holy origins from Moshe at Mount sinai. The other more mundane ancient script was used for secular purposes.

@coenraadvanschoor I have heard this theory before from Orthodox Jews, but it does not hold up to any archeological evidence as the square script is never found in any document older than about 400 BC. Prior to this date, the only writing ever found is in the paleo or ancient Hebrew script.

@Amocee laughable. Pick of a scientific journal about ancient DNA research and comparisons to who exists today. From Hebrew Levim to Lebanese who show acient phoenician, WE ( I am levi) have science to back our historical text and oral traditions (although oral is always currupt). It is also how Hebrews, Arabs and so on, can't deny we are cousins through and through.

@jonny7748 You are right....Arab and Jew are more like brothers than cousins. The Original Hebrew is of African Decent more closely to the modern Ethipioan than any other tribe. Don't believe me...even if the ancient Hebrews were of European decent after mixing with Ancient Egyptians (who we all know are dark-skinned african people) the European over time would become mixed into the darker race. They would develop the features of an African etc.

@jonny7748 I know the story very well...I also know there are parts of the English translation we read today that was manipulated and "Added-to" to make slavery in the Western Hemisphere acceptable to all. I have also researched into archaeological finds in the state of Israel, and there is slim to none supporting the Biblical evidence of the Scriptures...Hmm...makes on wonder than where is all of the evidence if it is not in the state of Israeli.

If, indeed, we believe in the Torah's account of creation, then it becomes evident that we all find our origins in the original male & female. If you can accept that truth, then Noah, his wife & offspring also find their origins in Adam and Eve. I wonder if Ezra had any concept of transliteration. The original language of the scriptures, may have been as close to transliterating God's (message) voice as man will ever get again. Although, the manner which the Holy Spirit speaks to our spirit and soul, most likely transcends language.

Transliterating was a very common tool in the ancient world, as much as it is done today. It allowed a writing to be read with different alphabets.

The Hebrews originally wrote the Bible with the "Old Hebrew" (aka Paleo-Hebrew) but was later (possibly by Ezra) transliterted into the Chaldean (aka Aramean or Aramaic) alphabet.
