Not really. I carried one for a little bit. One reason I carried it was because it scares the hell out of people. This guy was going to rob me, I did a thumb roll trick and he just backed off. They are really for intimidation and if you have a quality one, they work better than a lot of knives out there.
I know a doctor, firemen, police officers, ex military, chinese, japanese, mangonese a shit ton of different people that I met thru balisongs.
