  • Right On!!

  • GREAT STUFF!!! wish i could hear your playin to the actual song.

  • Yes, yes, man oh man, yes! This is IT, Clyde's groove on Mother Popcorn. I'm not a drummer, but I am a tenor sax player who was inspired to start playing sax by Maceo Parker when he played TENOR SAX with James Brown in the late 60's. I used to play in teen age soul bands back then and EVERY drummer in town HAD to know this lick. You make it look easy. You've also made me very happy with this tribute to Clyde Stubblefield and James Brown. BTW, Mother Popcorn is my favorite JB song of all time.

  • I'm putting up a slower version of this groove....

  • Clyde's the main man..along with Jab'o of course..and Melvin Parker. Man, I've been into these guys for..well..decades. Glad you like this. I think I'm gonna re-do it though, with better sound and video

  • Awesome Chuck!!! Clyde is the whole reason I started playing drums.

  • I'll be doing lots of these in HD as well...

  • Cool groove. Could have used a bit more of a breakdown beyond the straight / slower demo. Would love to see the transcription. I'll email you.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • cool email me and I'll send you the transcription.
