@vakkachan1, I agree that worship songs should be scripturally accurate. However I think your losing the point of the verse and confusing metaphor with the literal. The message the verse is conveying is that God is with us in all things, good and bad. Dancing typically signifies Good times; mourning signifies bad times.

I am just a bit confused about the line "oh you mourn with and dance with me", will the lord actuall DANCE with us? Is that actually scriptural, where in the BIBLE does it say that god dances, I've heard Hindu gods and godesses dancing to the sound of music, but will our god actually dance, is that part of god's character, does he need to dance, i'm just a bit confused that's all, if someone could explain that to me, that would be great.

@vakkachan1 I think your observation is correct and noteworthy. It places a challenge to us when we write Christian songs to be sensitive and ensure the lyrics are biblical and pose no confusion about the message. It takes the Holy Spirit to keep us sensitive to things like this. I hear some christian songs and have to pause and be sure the lyrics are scriptural. Having said this I appreciate the song. May God lead us in our service to Him.

@tom6612 I used to be a Christain. Now it would seem there's almost nothing in this life i hate more than God. That is, not until i read ur post. I'll love this song, hating God not withstanding. And like 'mezap77' said, i'd give anything to be the person i was before 1996. I'd tried severally to retrace my steps, to go back to the place i longed for, but it just didn't work.
