Will, what could you do with a complete database of all the YouTube comments? Two words Will, PROFANITY FILTER. I personally would love to see a filter that we can add words to so you don't have to look at all of the hateful comments. With a system like this in place it would then be possible to rate a user and then restrict them from leaving comments according to the amount of profanity they use. I don't know if that's what YouTube has in mind but if it is that sounds like a good idea to me.

there is a option on youtube to limit the profanity one views in the comments section.

click on "options" next to "text comments"

and then click on hide objectional words.

i don't think that youtube will ever be able to limit the amount of profanity in the comments. i mean, it's not like people have to work around them; one can say anything he/she likes on youtube. if a user wants to spread hate, he/she can just open another account and comment away.
