I prefer Chris, but then, I've always preferred male voices to female - except if it's exceptional, like Nina Simone, Bjork, PJ Harvey, etc. Unique, powerful ones. Male voices always suited my tastes more, no matter the range. But again, as thedeak said, it's just my opinion, no better or worse than anyone else's. Plus I think Chris has an enormous stage presence and charisma I personally prefer. Not that Kelli Ali didn't have her own - I'm just not into women much....

Agreed. He's also got a really kick-ass stage presence with a guitar. I used to hate the strangled noises he did here, but it's really grown on me. There's just an attitude of not giving a damn behind it, which is probably what makes his performances so impressive.

Yes, she left, but not of her own accord. They did ask her to leave so Chris could pursue his role as the front man. Also, I agree it is a matter of taste. I don't think my opinion is better than anyone elses..it's just mine :)

No, the original front-person was kelli Ali (used to be kelli Dayton), and she was the original sound of Sneaker Pimps. Shes the one that made them big. In my humble opinion, they should have kept her because i don't think Chris Corner can sing.

Kelli Ali best?? They are different but she isn't better than Chris...The voice of Chris is more expressive and he has a dark style that was better for the songs of splinter. Why Chris can't sing? Songs like Low Five or Loretta Y.S. are very beautiful!! And Kelli isn't the one that made big the band, because all of songs are written by Chris. Being the song writer isn't a valid argument. Many artists don't write their own music or songs. Just because Chris wrote them doesn't mean he's magically a better singer. Yea, I think he has a more expressive style, but I don't think he pulls it off well.

@thedeak Ha ha, Corner's got one of the best voices in rock music these days, technically his range is more varied and skilled.. this is not debatable. You can't pose the argument that Kelli was a better singer... sure you might like her style more. But you're a moron if you think she's actually better. She's generic... She's hot, I'll giver her that. But no way in hell does she emote the energy and technical virtuosity that Corner has proven to master. Listen to some IAMX. Flawless live too.
