"Many Rivers To Cross" what a fabulous song, and Eric and The Original Animals absolutely NAILED it! Only Joe Cocker's "Organic" version can come close to touching this! All Apologies to Jimmy Cliff and countless others but Eric and Joe crushed this righteous tune!
This is my favourite version of this Great song,of which i own the 1977 Lp of. I have heard many but the passion and vocals surpass any I've heard. Thanks for the posting.
Oops.. Please forgive.. but do love. Three of his songs are at the beginning of my play list, so I do enjoy him about daily. :) Keyboard isn't working well just now, or I'd tell you a bird story. Please ask me if you're interested. Tied to his version of "Ring of Fire." I think I've spelled it wrong for a long long time.
This is interesting. It makes me think of Melanie Safka.. They both belt out any song how their mood brings it out. Like me. Only problem, nobody wants to listen to me! Sometimes I think I don't really like a song, then find I like it just because of the emotion coming from the gut! Like this. I love Eric Burden!!
Can anyone ever listen to the UB40 version again after hearing this?! I doubt it !
