  • I missed this video you posted. I have a camera and will try and take a photo of the bird feeder Mike made to keep out squirrels and mail it to you. As you know, it's made of stainless steel. No baffler needed. Squirrel arms are too short to get a grip and get inside. The top is wider than the seed tray and keeps the seed dry. It looks like a flying saucer, but the birds love it. Especially as they pass here during migration. Plenty of food here in the woods for squirrels.

  • @piperlady56 Thank you for the comment Dianne and I look forward to your photo.

  • Just beautiful.

  • @piperlady56 thanks Dianne.

  • @Gremlinshag thank you for the kind words and commenting and watching.

  • or the Canadian Wildlife Fed.

  • Awesome. So you had to contact the WWF for certification?

  • @NovaScotiaNewfie I might have said it wrong in the video Josh. My wife contacted the Canadian Wildlife Federation and they certified our backyard as a cerfified backyard habitat. Just looking at the certificate while I am typing this certified in 2008.

  • @DTGtaihojutsu well it's beautiful Rick. If I had a home and yard and didn't live in an apt I'd hire you to do my yard :D. If you do training around that section I'd put in a home made torri and a Buddha statue just to make it "feel"more Japanese.

  • @NovaScotiaNewfie thanks brother I appreciate the kind words.

  • OK, I am officially jealous...beautiful job Rick.

  • @Calimantalkin thank you my friend I appreciate it.

  • Thanks for sharing your oasis with us Rick. It looks to be the perfect spot to unwind after a difficult day! It's really cool that it is an ongoing family project.

Many people don't know that those fish (Koi) live for over 200 years! Blue Heron are a tenth of that, Spray the beggar! LOL

  • @Harpmaker44 you are very welcome with me sharing Don nice to hear from you and thank you for the kind words , comment and watching. Two of my bigger kois are about 12 years old. They were in a tank with fish who were sick , my wife and I nursed them back to health and now they are the oldest of the group.

  • It looks really amazing ! I just love the plants, the variety of them and the garden looks great also ! Congrats for final the result of your hard work and determination ! And LoL, if i were an animal i would have a heart attack if the motion sensors go off ;)) ( just kidding of course :D ) ! Truly great job and congratulations for a job well done and a well deserved final result ! All the best, God bless ! *bow*

  • @VickThorrable Thanks Vick , when we were testing the sensor my wife decided to use me as a test subject and chased me all around the backyard soaking me LOL. The water comes out hard. Thank you for the kind words and comment on the garden.

  • Wauw, it's just so... perfect and amazing :D except for the sensor haha but wauw.... just wauw....

  • @JumperFrank trust me Frank I do not want the sensor but the Heron is smart and comes in the early morning when we are sleeping so we had to get this. Thanks for watching my friend and commenting.

  • @DTGtaihojutsu yeah... love the sight of herons in the morning... lol xD

  • @blackswordshinobi Thank you Billy I appreciate it.

  • Great for a relaxing moment away from the rush of every day life.

  • @socks1949 yes it is my friend I need to learn that though and take the time to relax more and enjoy it. Thanks for the comment and watching.

  • Nice Rick very nice, i'm moving cities soon to a new place with a large negelected backyard with lots of plants as well, i lived for a long time in the city with no backyard, so seeing this makes me excited to do some lanscaping, cheers.

  • @LosBats brother I wish you all the best in your endeavours about getting a new property. We had the option of two new homes one which is a twin to ours with little land but tons of inside upgrades for the same price or ours with the land. We picked the one with the land and we have taken our time over the years to upgrade the inside. It took me years to get it to this state it was nothing but clay in 1998 and now it has grown like crazy. Thanks for watching and the comment.

  • Looks peaceful.

  • @speedbuggy it is my friend I need to take more time in my hectic schedule to actually sit and enjoy it . Thanks for the comment and watching.

  • Very beautiful, Rick. :) I love the pond. I can imagine the fish feel great in there, the way they are happily swimming around :D The bridge looks very good too. The whole garden looks like a lovely place to relax. :))

  • @sweetfantasy33 thank you Stella the fish are really happy this year , it is like they have their own inground swimming pool LOL. Thank you for the kind words, comment and watching.

  • It's a Awesome yard ... truly an Oasis! :)

  • @Susanoo58 Thank you my friend I appreciate the comment and you watching.

  • Stunning...You must feel so good knowing you've built something like that by yourself... instead of paying a landscape company so much money to do it. It looks amazing... I wish when i'm older i can do something like this! Hard work pays off!

  • @VNPrince thanks brother I hope all is well with you I have not heard from you in a while. The contractors wanted thousands of dollars years ago and I said no way all of my friends who had the contractors do it for them their ponds are a disaster zone. So you are right my friend I am feeling good for what we have accomplished and thank you so much for the nice commment and watching. I am sure when you get older you will have the same. My hooded partner we are going to build one for his house.
