JRX series from JBL, although "JBL" they are definitely bottom of the line. I've never had good experience with them. I use Mccauley myself. But good performance. I would have gone with MRX, or SRX
You have more lights highlighting yourself than crowd...I think i could Dj for 100 years and still never use one of the cheap lasers.. just me. Plus, photographers hate them especially when they're trying to take important pictures, like father daughter. They'll show up and look like spots all over the dress. But hey if the bride wants here wedding looking like a low budget nightclub. what can you do. Good job all around just not my thing...
Nice Ride! Good thing you have 4wd. I am mins off of lake ontario so , I know what kind of snow you guys get. I've got a 08 dodge caravan. If you ever need to switch vehicles, check it out. With the stow & go, you have the same amount of space as an 8ft truck bed.
For one, space. I don't have space to park one at home. I also don't have space to park one at most downtown venues. Remember, I live in the middle of a big city, It's hard enough to find a parking spot for one truck let alone a truck and trailer.
The other issue would be Wisconsin Winters! Snow! OUCH!
There's a gig log where I do this somewhere WAY back. However, that's like compairing a moped to a Hummer! The little color splash Jr. lights are nice little lights (I use mine to light up my desk in my new office now) but are not very powerful for serious uplighting
I found that video that you compare, i get what you mean... unfurtunately here in brazil these equipments are too expensive... the colorsplash jr costs R$200, which is about US$100... and the LED 64 costs R$580, almost US$300 a piece....
I've had mine for a year and have done a few updates on it. It's a nice little unit, actually. I've heard some people complain but I have had no troubles with mine
Haha, thats like ridiciously low compared to cars here. You simply couldn't afford to run a car like that here. For motorway runs anything under 35mpg is considered to be uneconomical here.
Looks sweet though! and if the gas is cheap I guess why not :P
Love the blacked out grill on your chevy! (aftermarket!?) , I love American cars but i think you guys go a bit over board with the chrome. But hey thats just a personal preference kind of thing...
I argee with you on the back ground music during dinner, it is as important as the main music. Good gig log and see you at BPM. It will be nice to meet everyone.
It was really great seeing everyone doing the line dancing stuff. Seeing the crowd dancing to Thriller like that would be so cool to see live.
I especially liked the idea of speaking to people during a quite period. Maybe you might want to do a future video explaining that aspect more in depth, I would be really interested in how you approach that.
I first wanna say I really like the uplighting in this gig. It looked great! But, from a youtube DJ tutor I would expect more tucked in wires and maybe a black table skirt to match the black table top facade. Maybe I'm being to picky, but overall a very nice setup, and gig. Thanks for sharing.
The table was dressed that way to match the other tables in the room. Yeah , you are being too picky. Nobody saw anything unless you were behind the booth
Yeah I'm picky. lol. I probably would've changed to the black table skirt anyway to match my fasade. I write my contracts up that ask if they would like us to use a black or white table skirt. 99% of my brides just say, use whatever looks best.
Nice gig Brian!! man the uplighting around the booth was killer! very cool! Good point about the dinner. I took some of your advice from a vid a while back and during the desert just before dancing, i went around the room table by table asking for any requests, and it worked out really well cuz during dancing i'd play that song and I could hear them healing "my song"!
My little S10 is sticking around because it's a nice little commuter vehicle. Red Dog the Dakota is going to go up for sale as soon as I get her cleaned up a bit.
Never play one artists throughout dinner. Rat pack style works but 45 minutes of ANYONE will not help your credibility. Light, but not sleepy piano music is nice for some up scale dinners. Just my 2 cents.
I'm playing tracks for dinner that some people hear (and complement me on) and others have no idea what's happening. I'll have to do a video on it sometime.
yes, I know it looks like hell. Most of that stuff won't come off. I think I have spots on the inside or something or maybe some dead pixles. I need HD!
Yes, we do have a love affair with the Automobile in the USA. It has a lot to do with a lack of public transit and loads of open road to enjoy our cars :)
i like te lasers that make shaped laser paterns more with the single beams coming from the laser itself but nice gig log keep em comming i learn so much from you
Now i didnt know what i had been missing but this was it the gig logs.... love taking 10 min a coffee and see how you got on...it makes me realise why i still dj... its fun! i am liking the uplighting of the booth but will chat to you when you come about the lighting on the dance floor...etc....great job as always bro......o CLEAN YOUR CAMCORDER LENS hahah
Let me tell you it feels good to have so many tune in after being absent for so long. I almost thought my gig logs had lost thier appeal to a lot of people so it's nice to see so many tune and and comment :)
I have done the father/daughter thing that way as well. Sometimes I recommend little things like that to our clients to be unique and different. It will help set them apart. Love the cha cha - cupid mix as well. Great job on the up-lighting! New gear truck is awesome!
Mega bars are the best thing iv bought in terms of lighting, i have them facing the crowd though, with MyDmx controlling them so they dont blind everyone too much.
fuel prive are going up, I know the states is waaay behind the rest of us but for you I only hope the prices don't approach ours anytime soon ....you'll have an expensive piece of street art then man ....
I agree Brian!! Dinner music sets the tone of your night!! It's worth your time to put some thought into it rather than just play "Jazz CD's" I find that if you play to the crowd early, they will eat out of the palm fof your hand for the rest of the event!!! Great vid, and welcome back!!!
Mega bar 50 are awesome. I have four of them. Hope to get more. Master slave look they are awesome. i like how simple your light show is. mega bars/ mega bar 50 around the dj and Lasers on ceiling and crowd. Very classy looking.
good job brian, congrats on the new truck

hey man, as always a good work!
I have a request, could you please make a video comparing the Par 64 LED and the Color Splash Jr. for uplighting use?

Thanks!
