try safe mode with networking and in safemode go to run and type msconfig

then block the rogue and use original boot from safe mode and backup system32

I killed it quick, I rebooted, then I hit Ctrl+alt+Del right as I logged on I saw a rogue process and killed it before It could kill task manager then I removed it from the start up and deleted it, it's a s**t though I'm still clearing up its mess.

Oh, and the key is to download Malwarebytes. Then restart in safe mode. Remember to save Malwarebytes somewhere you can select it fast, because even though you're in safe mode, this shit still runs.

Then do a full system scan. :3

I remember; I got this by visiting a fucking photobucket page. Actually, a video on photobucket.

I searched and searched for hours for a way to get rid of it, and finally did. I managed to get through the frequent IE pages popping up, sending me to sites such as viagra[dot]com, porn[dot]com.

I remember, I found the sysguard executable, it was in a folder in my application data. The folder that contained it was named some Chinese pinyin stuff, I believe.

Yes I searched through youtube videos . I think this is a rootkit. It takes a few bites of code from a programme and then is able to reroute all calls to that programme and manipulate it as it wants. So you try and use windows media player and it takes that call and comes back with the "Security Warning".

I immediately realized that Task Manager wasn't going to work, eventually I got to Task Manager by searching for it and running it. I digress on that story. Great video. I tried to recreate this in a video I made. People I've told couldn't believe it could block wmp and mspaint.exe . I made another video - I got this malware from flmsdown net . Crazy that it messed the PC up so bad that it couldn't even take you to the purchase site. When I had it it was directing me to platinum something site. I wish we could trace where it's coming from.

It's actually not too hard to take out a VM. :) I can make you a 32 byte proggy that will take VirtualBox out in a sec (it will say Guru Meditation), at least it did for me. Didn't upgrade it to the latest version though, maybe it's fixed then but, maybe not... ;)

And apart from crashing the session, it can do absolutely nothing to the host afaik.

I had the same rouge on my sisters computer and I was trying to fix it. I used malwarebytes, but It blocked it. I put the computer in safe mode to delete the proxy that was in IE8 and downloaded/update Malwarebytes and then scanned the computer. Afterwords the rouge was gone, but it damaged the Hibernation feature in the computer. The rouge also damaged the system restore so there was nothing I could do to restore the damage the rouge did.
