I read his biography several times and enjoyed his evolution as a person. It pains me to hear people misquote him. An outstanding speaker! I disagree with your notions of the Islamic religion. Though I'm not a Muslim, I understood that the Islam that Malcolm practiced and the current extremist Islamic groups we are seeing now are two completely different practices. I won't say what Malcolm would've make of the modern times, but as with everything, you put your belief on a religion, an organization, or a system and it can very well be steered off course and a skewed into some corrupt form.
Muslim extremists actually obey the Quran and that is what Malcolm X would have trasnsitioned his movement towards if he had not been killed. Christianity and Islam are antagonists. His self centered beliefs would have caused a huge internal persecustion of black Christians if he were to live. What he wasn't able to accomplish his spiritual son Barack Obama will accomplish. MX layed a foundation for blacks to persecute Christians white or black.
I still disagree with your conclusion, because during the Crusades, soldiers said they follow God's will-- and pretty much anyone can do whatever they please and say that they're following the Qua ran or doing God's Will, or say it's justified in the Bible. I felt that Malcolm was coming from a down to earth- universal level of faith. Spirituality and Faith are the fundamental means of religion and I felt he sits right next to Ghandi, MLK, Jr. when it comes to peace, not antagonism.
Public spiritual leaders always have pretty words. Just look at Obama. All of the religious leaders Malcolm X/Ghandi/MLK are always in favor of universalism which is juxtaposed to Christianity.

to me he is a real contemporary example of an honest, just, strong ,proud yet humble, well spoken, determined, persistent & resilient good Muslim brother.

Hearing Malcolm speak, it is very easy to see why certain factions considered him so dangerous, so dispensable. He represented a threat to those powers that would keep not only black people down, but all people who struggle for freedom. It seem like both MLK and Malcom X made tremendous transitions in their latter years, Malcom went from civil to human rights (he wanted to go to the U.N.) and MLK went from civil right to all rights no matter what color and even took a stance on the Vietnam war. I read his biography several times and enjoyed his evolution as a person. It pains me to hear people misquote him. An outstanding speaker! This video reminds me of the excellent television news of my homeland Canada. This show and curling in french and english would be the only entertainment in parts of Canada! I wonder why I left!

Malcolm's life story is both amazing and sad. This man had to endure injustices and bigotry that no one should have to endure. But he turned his circumstances into a life that changed others for the good. He should be honoured.

it was a demeaning question, which is indicated by the tone of the question, he ask the predispose question to trap him in to a concept of religious superiority, ultimately Malcolm responded by saying we all praise the same god. the man who asked the question said it quite forcefully, Malcom didn't give the same energy back, and he disarmed the tension with a charming response.

I agree with Malcolm X in some of his points but his principle behind his beliefs were totally corrupt and would have ended in tyranny in the black community because the spiritual source he was connected with was evil thus the same tyranny he fought against would have been the same tyrrany the black commuinity would have embraced under Islamic based leadership. Which would have caused the black community to utterly seek the destruction of black and white Christians. His tenants stayed the same

I disagree with your notions of the Islamic religion. Though I'm not a Muslim, I understood that the Islam that Malcolm practiced and the current extremist Islamic groups we are seeing now are two completely different practices. I won't say what Malcolm would've make of the modern times, but as with everything, you put your belief on a religion, an organization, or a system and it can very well be steered off course and a skewed into some corrupt form.

Muslim extremists actually obey the Quran and that is what Malcolm X would have trasnsitioned his movement towards if he had not been killed. Christianity and Islam are antagonists. His self centered beliefs would have caused a huge internal persecustion of black Christians if he were to live. What he wasn't able to accomplish his spiritual son Barack Obama will accomplish. MX layed a foundation for blacks to persecute Christians white or black.

I still disagree with your conclusion, because during the Crusades, soldiers said they follow God's will-- and pretty much anyone can do whatever they please and say that they're following the Qua ran or doing God's Will, or say it's justified in the Bible. I felt that Malcolm was coming from a down to earth- universal level of faith. Spirituality and Faith are the fundamental means of religion and I felt he sits right next to Ghandi, MLK, Jr. when it comes to peace, not antagonism.
