I also want to add that in terms of eye shadow primer: I use the "Too Faced Shadow Insurance" that has always worked really well for me and it doesn't contain any parabens.
I'm not sure how it compares to the Urban Decay one as I've never used it but I hope it'll be a good replacement!
I just discovered your videos through a review of La Roche Posay fluid sunscreen and I really like them :) I think this one is especially good - it's good to make people think a bit more about what they are actually putting onto their skin. Yesterday I bought some false eyelashes and found out the glue has formaldehyde. Formaldehyde?! I was shocked because I used to work in the lab this is powerful stuff used to fix tissues. It is a known carcinogen too! So scary stuff...

Hi, I've been overturning my whole makeup routine after doing some research on various toxic substances in makeup. Mascara smudges easily for me so I started using cover girl Lashblast and it was perfect, no smudging, but I found out it has parabens. Do you know any non-smudging mascaras without parabens? waterproof smudges on me because I have oily eyes. any recommendations would help because I am struggling to find a safe replacement for Lashblast. This video was very informative! It surprises me that the high end makeup and skincare may have parabens in their products. I didn't really pay any attention to the ingredients in the products I have been using. Now I am thinking about buying products that don't have parabens in them. I have heard for quite some time that parabens weren't good for your hair, so I stopped using those a long time ago.

Great video Poli! Besides parabens, there are so many more chemicals in products than people don't even realise. I always check the labels and research online. There's a great site (Cosmetics Database) that gives tons of info. You'd be shocked at just how many harmful ingredients are in the products we use everyday. I'm slowly trying to switch over to completely natural and/or organic products with little or no chemicals. And I never use products that have been tested on animals.
that is such a good point you made that if the government allows it, it must be safe. I think a lot of people think this. however, the toxic substances control act for the US was enacted in 1978 and has yet to be updated. under this act no health and safety study is required to market new chemicals. and only 5 chemicals have been banned or severely restricted under this act. i think this applies to chemicals used in cosmetics as well. thank you for sharing!
It is so annyoing thing about parabens,when i found out about them i was so upset,because all my favourite make-up had it.....and then it is so annoying go to the shops and look not at the products but at their ingridients,it was driving me crazy......my favourite skincare range Dermalogica-had all 5 parabens in it....i have favourite blush by Bourjouis which i use every single day,but it doesnt say are there any parabens would be nice to know... really really annoying.... :/ Thanks for video x
I have the Rimmel Stay Matte foundation, and it is paraben free. However, there is an ingredients page that you can go to on the website, and it says that it has parabens. I fear that they may have changed the formula. I was sad to find that parabens are in my expensive Make UP Forever Matt Velvet + and in Revlon colorstay. Thank you for this video!

arg, i just bought recently from sephora a laura mercier face kit and it is in everything, a whole bunch, well it is going back, good thing anyways as 65 bux was not really worth it for what i got and there are plenty of other good tinted moisturizers out there that work great, unfortunately my other fave- neutrogena healthy skin enhancer has them and my color stay.. but smooth moose is good!
plus arent there parabens in vaccines? think about how many vaccines children receive nowadays. i think they have to put the preservatives in the vaccines so the bacteria wont overgrow. vaccines are mandatory in schools and daycare unless you get a waiver form

@PelirrojaXO I know, it was terrifying really. Thankfully it was only pre-cancerous, so they were able to remove it before it got too serious. I was on Yaz for about 3 years and the only reason they discovered the tumor was because I was getting an abdominal cat scan for something completely different! The worst part is that I can never ever take birth control/estrogen again because the doctor's are afraid it'll happen a second time. And the surgery was so painful, I don't want that for sure!!

Great video- I avoid parabens as well. Another ingredient that's really bad is propylene glycol. Look into that too..
The brands I like to buy from are Josie Maran (sephora.com), Tarte, Bare Minerals (great eyeshadows), and PurMinerals. Also, if you like (or anyone reading this) Revlon Colorstay- the Revlon Colorstay Mineral Mousse Foundation doesn't have parabens or propylene glycol in it.. I like it better than the regular colorstay foundation.
This what I found on the subjecy: "Check your product labels for these terms: Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, Benzyl-parahydroxybenzoic acid, Methyl-parahydroxybenzoic acid, Ethyl-parahydroxybenzoic acid, Propyl-parahydroxybenzoic acid, Butyl-parahydroxybenzoic acid, Parahydroxybenzoic acid and Parahydroxybenzoate. They are all forms of parabens. If possible, get rid of everything in your house with those ingredients."

When it comes to parabens, we just need to be informed so do that we can make a choice whether to use them or not. Regarding the FDA- it's not so surprising they can't forbid the use of parabens. Think about it-everyone knows tobacco is bad for you, yet it 's sale is not forbidden! I just think there needs to be more information on the subject!!! Cancer is NOT beautiful!!!

Thanx for this video! Have you done a research about aluminum in the deodorants causing breast cancer and all different illnesses? It's also a very important subject, I believe it's even more dangerous than the parabens...I've done my research a while ago& now I'm trying to use only aluminum free deodorants...but they aren't easy to find!

@Policosmetics82 Me too! I'm now using the deodorant by alverde (from dm) I'm using the Deobalsam Calendula (roll on). You know what, nothing is as effective as the ones with alluminum ughhhh!!!!But I refuse to use them!!!Alverde is great because it doesn't have alkohol either. This video was very informative! It surprises me that the high end makeup and skincare may have parabens in their products. I didn't really pay any attention to the ingredients in the products I have been using. Now I am thinking about buying products that don't have parabens in them. I have heard for quite some time that parabens weren't good for your hair, so I stopped using those a long time ago.

I bought the Hola bronzer saw the parabens and took it back the next day. I got tarte instead. and love it

The Tarte eye primer is quite good. In case you're looking for a new eye primer. I switched away from parabens a year ago and I love the Tarte line!

Great video Poli! Besides parabens, there are so many more chemicals in products than people don't even realise. I always check the labels and research online. There's a great site (Cosmetics Database) that gives tons of info. You'd be shocked at just how many harmful ingredients are in the products we use everyday. I'm slowly trying to switch over to completely natural and/or organic products with little or no chemicals. And I never use products that have been tested on animals.

that is such a good point you made that if the government allows it, it must be safe. I think a lot of people think this. however, the toxic substances control act for the US was enacted in 1978 and has yet to be updated. under this act no health and safety study is required to market new chemicals. and only 5 chemicals have been banned or severely restricted under this act. i think this applies to chemicals used in cosmetics as well. thank you for sharing!

It is so annyoing thing about parabens,when i found out about them i was so upset,because all my favourite make-up had it.....and then it is so annoying go to the shops and look not at the products but at their ingridients,it was driving me crazy......my favourite skincare range Dermalogica-had all 5 parabens in it....i have favourite blush by Bourjouis which i use every single day,but it doesnt say are there any parabens would be nice to know... really really annoying.... :/ Thanks for video x

I have the Rimmel Stay Matte foundation, and it is paraben free. However, there is an ingredients page that you can go to on the website, and it says that it has parabens. I fear that they may have changed the formula. I was sad to find that parabens are in my expensive Make UP Forever Matt Velvet + and in Revlon colorstay. Thank you for this video!

arg, i just bought recently from sephora a laura mercier face kit and it is in everything, a whole bunch, well it is going back, good thing anyways as 65 bux was not really worth it for what i got and there are plenty of other good tinted moisturizers out there that work great, unfortunately my other fave- neutrogena healthy skin enhancer has them and my color stay.. but smooth moose is good!

plus arent there parabens in vaccines? think about how many vaccines children receive nowadays. i think they have to put the preservatives in the vaccines so the bacteria wont overgrow. vaccines are mandatory in schools and daycare unless you get a waiver form

but also look at the virus mono-we know that it can cause cancer.i have a cousin who got lymphoma after having mono. i think viruses are probably one of the most cancer causing. they change your dna. isnt that creepy!!!but i guess we would all have to live in a box to avoid all viruses and other ppl.

@PelirrojaXO also wouldnt that mean that all girls who take synthetic estrogens would have tumors everywhere?so i guess women shouldnt take birth control anymore. why do some ppl get cancer and others do not. i have a 90 year old grandma and she doesnt really avoid anything and shes never had cancer. she also took hormone replacement therapy for 20 years. im thinking that there must be something else that contributes.genetics being a major factor.

@PelirrojaXO I know, it was terrifying really. Thankfully it was only pre-cancerous, so they were able to remove it before it got too serious. I was on Yaz for about 3 years and the only reason they discovered the tumor was because I was getting an abdominal cat scan for something completely different! The worst part is that I can never ever take birth control/estrogen again because the doctor's are afraid it'll happen a second time. And the surgery was so painful, I don't want that for sure!!

I was looking into the Tarte products and find that most oft their products as paraben-free. Check it out! It looks like they have some lovely products. I need to do more research about this subject! I know about tarte - also Bare minerals, also on the strawberrynet site I found yougblood minerals, purminerals, jane irleland (also jane I saw on prettyskin4less). Also, if you have DM shops in Sweden - Alverde is very affordable and natural cosmetics brand!
So bumbed about the brow gel though - I loved it!!!

От известно време насам също започнах да се замислям и интересувам по темата, а за достъпна марка мога да препоръчам alverde. Ще бъде наистина супер, ако направиш още видео или повече по темата.

Great video- I avoid parabens as well. Another ingredient that's really bad is propylene glycol. Look into that too..
The brands I like to buy from are Josie Maran (sephora.com), Tarte, Bare Minerals (great eyeshadows), and PurMinerals. Also, if you like (or anyone reading this) Revlon Colorstay- the Revlon Colorstay Mineral Mousse Foundation doesn't have parabens or propylene glycol in it.. I like it better than the regular colorstay foundation.

This what I found on the subjecy: "Check your product labels for these terms: Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, Benzyl-parahydroxybenzoic acid, Methyl-parahydroxybenzoic acid, Ethyl-parahydroxybenzoic acid, Propyl-parahydroxybenzoic acid, Butyl-parahydroxybenzoic acid, Parahydroxybenzoic acid and Parahydroxybenzoate. They are all forms of parabens. If possible, get rid of everything in your house with those ingredients."

The problem is what you said in the video: low proportions of such substances in single products may sound not so bad.
The problem is that many many products used daily have parabens and other not good substances and so,
using many products, every day, through years and years is not good.

thank you so much for doing this, it kills me to throw away the Hoola because I love it, but it is not worth the risk, also Revlon colorstay foundation kills me because I love it, but I will throw away. Please keep us informed of any other products you find out about. What scares me is that even if a small amount is safe, if we put on various products with small amounts every day, then that adds up to big amounts of something we are not sure is safe. Thank you.

When it comes to parabens, we just need to be informed so do that we can make a choice whether to use them or not. Regarding the FDA- it's not so surprising they can't forbid the use of parabens. Think about it-everyone knows tobacco is bad for you, yet it 's sale is not forbidden! I just think there needs to be more information on the subject!!! Cancer is NOT beautiful!!!

Thanx for this video! Have you done a research about aluminum in the deodorants causing breast cancer and all different illnesses? It's also a very important subject, I believe it's even more dangerous than the parabens...I've done my research a while ago& now I'm trying to use only aluminum free deodorants...but they aren't easy to find!

@Policosmetics82 Me too! I'm now using the deodorant by alverde (from dm) I'm using the Deobalsam Calendula (roll on). You know what, nothing is as effective as the ones with alluminum ughhhh!!!!But I refuse to use them!!!Alverde is great because it doesn't have alkohol either. Definitely mention it in your future vids! I'll do that too :)
