Why are Ninja Tabi boots "split" in that funny way?

@DippShits its so when you climb a knotted rope you can put the rope between the split and the knot at the bottom to climb faster

@DippShits one of the many reasons is that when you walk on your tippy toes they look like some kind of animal tracks however i think tabis were very popular back in the ninja and samurai era ..but an other feature about the tabi is that there like walking bear foot giving your toes more flexibility making balance and how you shift your weight much easier and also the tabi was originally a form of sock that you would wear under your wooden sandals

@ninjadude126 that is not true at all. cause tabi in the old days didnt have rubber soles. they wore a tabi sock with waraji sandles. so it never left toe prints. if you want to see real ninja shoes from japan. go to my video numbered 150 top show real armors. this video is old and bad quality. go to my video numbered 150 and see my waraji i wear with real armor. that is what ninja word in japan. modern tabi have rubber and leave prints. old tabi never.

@03sk8ter i dont remember. i got them when i was 14 and i am 37. you can find them at awma do a search on google. you can get them anywhere online. this is old shitty vid. go to my channel only watch vids after 100 for real armor on horses in the mt and 2 man fighting swords in ninja gear in the forest and lakes and mts and guns and airsoft. bmx and snowboard vids. new vids are edited better and nice camera. this same room now is unreal looking. go see new stuff

The reason the others have an almost 90 degree angle is they arent meant to actually go into whatever your climbing on, theyre meant for gripping over the bark and gripping into surfaces that already have "seams".

Personal experiance, they do work, but you need a lot of upper body strength to use them effectively. No point having climbing aids if you cant climb anyway.

I have actually studied ninpo in liverpool england good video tho by the way arn't shuko's a Iron claw used to pirce skin and to rip into skulls to kill a aponant that is what my sensi said and tought me. By the way I'm a 2nd dan blackbelt in ninpo studyied it for 15 years started when I was 9 and finished by the time I was 24 then packed it in for health reasons I got fribrisitis in my hip and back and had to stop it was because of the kicking and being slammed down on a mat. stephen BSc.

i dont want to call you a fool but this is how it works. i can throw shuriken with my feet in tabi. you should be able to climb rope with knots in tabi. and for sure this is the right and only way to wear them. if you dont know or understand it is not your fault. you just dont know. check out the grandmasters book. soke hatsumis book on history and traditions and see them wear them close up. this is exactly the way

I own 2 pairs of these same claws ,u CAN climb with them however i would reccomend some gloves because they tear the shit out of the back of your hand ,also u really should couple them with the foot claws to avoid the same issue.

after a while the back of the hands will get conditioned to it. i have worn thin bmx gloves under them before but that was when i was younger. the claws fit my hand tight so then dont wiggle and dig in at a weird angle. they still hurt to climb. i use them against metal blade training sword in techniques in one of my vids. i use the foot ones the way they traditionally are supposed to be worn if i wear them.

when i was younger i tried army boots and they slip off. they have to be the way i tied them in the video and through the toes and around the ankle or they will move for sure

without tabi it is about impossible. i tried before with boots and it will come off i even tried lacing them through the boot lace holes. without tabi i dont see it happening. sorry

@SephirothTheNinja Hey there mate, why not try using lumberjack spikes instead?, they work really well outdoors and you dont need to wear tabi (but they are a little harder to use). Or, if youre more confident with your upper body strength you could always just use log rolling spikes to add a little support to your legs when climbing, this lets you ascend faster but is much harder. Hope this was more helpful :D

@Scyllah these work great. they are fighting claws. see me in vid 107 of mine. i catch a sword with the claws and remove the sword. i know how to use these good. ninja were not lumberjacks lol. go to vid 107 to see them used in combat

sorry i cant. they didnt have internet then. i got these in 1987. i have had them for 21 years. alot of my weapons i have had for 10 years or 15 years. so i dont know where i got them that long ago. but i know what to look for in a good claw. . at one minute in a mention a site that is the good ones but real expensive and only for the serious hardcore ninja that will be climbing trees alot with them. sorry. but i know most places online that have them look for how curved the spikes are.

in the end of summer. trees here are so wet of bark. shuriken stick good but claws make whole chunks of bark fall off. snow around trees all year the inside of tree and bark are soggy. i will but youtube user shinobistorm has best shuko vid on youtube and climbing

good vid but bad product i have the exact claws and when yo try to use thm they pretty much break yuor if u put ur body wight on them. when eny pressure is put on the claws the same pressure is focus on the back of your hands but the foot claws work half way but slide side to side. sorry about the english its not my first language
