Im making no excuses for my comment; it's a sick world we live in where the sight of a woman's face or flesh is a cause for excitement, where men have to be 'protected' from their own potential misdeeds by women wearing burkas. The other side of the coin could see men all being castrated on the off-chance that they could rape a woman that turns them on. Who thinks THAT is a good idea?
The burqa seems to me like a prison but a protection. On the outside u wud see it different from the person on the inside. 2 me on the inside i wud find it comfortable, ive never worn one, but id bet it's confortable.
If Muslims wear that, it is oppression, if a super model put on that it will be a fashion in the Western world. Half naked is fashion in the West but in the Islamic world it is immoral.
i am sure your face is alot more lovely, take it off, and express yourself, something you can't do with a burkha, you are equal to a man, and he doesnt have to wear a burkha, so why should you, just try it, and you will love it
I have been to Arabia and if you are rich enough you can afford comfortable, practical Burkhas. The Burkhas in Afghanistan are one piece, they appear not to be of the most comfortable material. It is made wholesale, so I wonder how those in particular felt. I know women take pride in what little they have. I'm sure some of the more patterned Burkhas would get some angry. I remember being told off for having a silver thread in my black Burkha.
the poor women under rule of the taliban.... the terrible punishements for not wearing a burqa

@MsGLULU I'm not a man, but I would wear one if I really didn't want to be seen and/or recognized (Of course not in the US)

They appear suffocating, especially in the >105º heat of the desert.

For a woman a burkha, is like a child wearing a dunce cap. Both make you look like an idiot, and is something forced on you.

Very interesting. My husband has purchased some burqas for me from Afghanistan and they are so elaborately made and very lovely.

Hi
I just want to ask, when you wore the niqaab could you see from the side? And also did you go to Afghanistan when it was very hot? How did they feel?
From my understanding you wouldn't be able to go out alone you would need a male guardian. Did you have one?
