Youre kidding me, blame cost rise of a figther on price of healthcare titanium and nickel. Healthcare is something that you should have known, and the material is something you lock in in a longterm contracts. Its just stupid.

no plane is truely stealth. Stealth means you can't talk to your wingman. When it is near enough it is detectable. AWACS is not stealthy and when it is destroyed the F35 loses. Jammers are more reliable means of being invisible in combat. There are more advanced anti-stealth missles nowadays. How come we don't see any stealth planes in Libya? Why send your F-15 to crash there?

F-35 is Useless. F-22 is useful. The F-35 can't turn, can't climb, can't run, and can't defeat advance Sukhoi fighters variants. The F-22 can turn, can climb, can run, and can defeat advance Sukhoi fighters. The F-35 can't carried a lot of bombs and missiles but F-22 can carried a lot bombs and missiles. F-35 doesn't have supercruise and thrust vectoring but the F-22 had it. F-35 is waste of money. F-22 can protect US sky but the F-35 can not.

Barely useful only really good enough as a sort of Navy carrier based close support aircraft,but then the marines have them too don't they?.What does the Navy want with a fighter slightly better than the f18 when it still has supertomcates in it's inventory?

How the airforce and Navy can benefit with this contraption God only knows.One of it's few graces is the ageing f15 and f18in their respective fleets.Still it will create jobs.Its a cash creator(!?)

3. F-35 is far ahead of the Super Bug, and Any of the flankers or fulcrums. With its advantages, it more than makes up for its fairly expensive price.

Advantages such as:

A. Stealth, effectively shortening the enemy's detection range down by 4-6 fold

B. Sensors, With some of the most powerful radar equipment, and passive sensors, it is more than a match for any opponent even without stealth

C. 360 Degrees Off Bore Look, Lock and Shoot

D. Avionics, sensor fusion, levels of Automation

We have no evidence that its stealthy enough to not be detected and fired on by multiple AAMs from a SU-27/30/35 both infared and radar guided forcing it to maneuver or die. Its radar if turned on broadcasts where it is, negating stealth. Nice try.

@dynmicpara its not about being invisible,it never has been,its about being detected TO LATE! by the time the F-35 is detected it would most likely be in range to have already dealt with whatever its up against. also the radars used on the F-22 and F-35 are advanced AESA radars with LPIR tech,making them nearly impossible to detect by RWR. also,because russian planes lack LPIR radars they can be easily picked up by the RWR on the F-35,making the time the F-35s radar needs to even be on minimal.

A. Stealth is useless when the Sukhois are implimenting some of the most advanced IRSTs today.

B. Super powerful Sensors and Radars light up the plane like a christmas tree in the skies. Nice target practice!

C. 360 degree look/lock/shoot with just 2 A2A missiles and 2 GABs? Any more payload has to go on external pods, rendering the plane stealthless!

D. Automation only means more stuff to go wrong. Any damage to any electronic component during a battle will render the fusion useless.
