Proposition: the statement "an individual's life begins at conception" implies that the value of life is zero.
Lemma 1: all individuals have the same value of life x.
pf. Assume that upon conception, every zygote has value x. Now consider three zygotes, each with value x. The first undergoes mitosis before implantation, resulting in twins with values a, b | a + b = x. The other two fuse into a tetragametic chimera with value 2x. By Lemma 1, each of these scenarios imply 2x = x, thus x = 0
Abortion is an issue only because our society has abandoned Gods Word. God would rather nip this problem in the bud before any abortion could take place. Deuteronomy 22:13-21 says if a man marries a girl and finds her not to be a virgin, then she is to be stoned to death. Notice the girl is to be killed without a concern of whether she might be pregnant. God doesnt want that selfish man stuck raising a baby which wasnt his! The bible god's answer is to kill both the girl and the baby
Talk about taking out of context. The Old Testiment is the book of rules that were in place before Jesus came to earth. The New Testiment clearly states that the Old Testiment laws are no longer applicable.
God does not wish anyone to die, regardless of their sin. That is the entire reason why he sent his son to die. To try to imply that the bible and God wish that the woman AND child would die, is completely incorrect and sadly misinformed.
Your a dumb ass. Millions of Jews and many Christian sects still follow the Torah laws today.
Even though Paul taught otherwise, Jesus taught to keep following the OT law:
Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but WHOEVER PRACTICES AND TEACHES THESE COMMANDS will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. [Matthew 5:18-19]
So let's get this straight. You believe Paul, an annointed and called man of God preached differently than Jesus, and God and Jesus, the man who was born of a virgin (imagine how bad that looked back then), and the man who met the woman at the well and helped her regardless of her choices and upbringing, believes that a woman who is pregnant before marriage should be stoned to death?
Yea, that would make total sense. Just as much as someone who comes name-calling and preaching. Wow.
If Jesus really is the OT god he claimed to be then Jesus is the very god who taught people to kill their daughters if they get pregnant out of wedlock.
The fact is the authors of the bible were HAPPY to declare that Jesus was the VERY hebrew OT god who said garbage like this:
Now kill all the boys and kill every woman who has slept with a man, but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man.[Numbers 31:14-18]
It's clear to me that you don't get out of Numbers very much. Futhermore, sending me private messages claiming how you have a great revelation of scripture isn't going to work either.
You're a nutjob if you think the bible tells us to kill women and children. Everything you reference is in regards to direct commands to a specific group of people. Not to us, now. You cannot take every verse in the bible and apply it to life, otherwise, we are clothed with shame and should be nude, too.
Not to mention the fact that you didn't even answer the question I posed. Explain to me, logically, how Jesus would command people to murder, when he clearly showed mercy to countless sinners on earth, continues to do so, and pardoned the thief on the cross right before he died?
You cannot. You can attempt to portray the bible in any fashion by taking a select amount of versus, but that is scary territory, and God does not appreciate slander.
You don't believe Jesus is the god who said this in the OT:?
"Anyone who curses or hits his father or mother must be put to death." [Mthw 15:4; Ex 21:15,17]
Gee that's nice kill your kids over mere words!
It's funny, because Jesus claims he is the very OT god who said that. Before Abraham was "I AM." [John 8:58] That's exactly how the OT god referred to himself: as "I AM." [Exodus 3:14]
So if Jesus is the god of the OT, please explain why you think he's a such nice merciful guy?
1. Because he sent his son to die for humanity so that we all may be spared from Hell.
2. Because he gave humanity a chance after they had disgraced him so. (Noah's ark)
3. He gave Abraham and Lott the opportunity to escape Soddom before it was burned to the ground, and was willing to spare the city after he was asked.
4. There are countless individuals who were helped or spared throughout the bible, including, as I said earlier, the thief.
So you don't believe the verse that commands parents to kill their children should be part of the Bible? Why don't you rip that verse out of your Bible? Not only will you have to throw away the book of Exodus, but you'll have to throw away Matthew too, since Jesus teaches this in Matthew 15:4.
Quoting a bunch of positive things about the bible does not make the negative things disappear.
You can quote John 3:16 all day, but IT DOES NOT make commands to kill children go away from the bible.
There again, you wish to beat this point to death. What you obviously can't seem to comprehend is Old English. If you read new translations and apply various versus whenever you feel like it, you could make the bible say that aliens are invading.
One of the many tools of Satan to attempt to confuse the world.
Simply put, Jesus was referencing the old law and pointing out that the Pharisees were hypocrites for trying to condemn him for not washing his hands. Read the whole chapter first.
In fact, if you just read on in Matthew 15, Jesus clearly states that murder defiles a person. So then, explain to me how he could have just said people should kill women and children?
It doesn't make sense. Kill them. Killing is a sin, and defiles you. But kill them?
You really need to do more reading, and not try to attach your agenda to everything. Your eyes will open up.
The bible states Jesus is God, but also his son. I don't even begin to claim I can understand, but I know that Jesus is NOT God, in that he is his son, so he IS. I am a portion of my father, because I am his son. They are 3 beings in 1, so I would not say Jesus specifically made the law in the Old Testiment. Furthermore, God himself revealed the new commandments to Moses on the Mount, which you clearly skipped over in your crusade against the bible.
Instead of calling us names please be more specific. I could say the same thing about you, yet without providing a solid reason for my argument it is in vain.
Sarah Palin and John McCain both feel that they have a god-given right to dictate to women regardless of their personal circumstances.
Palin On Abortion: "I'd Oppose Even If My Own Daughter Was Raped". Her daughter was 14 at the time her mom made this statement.
Hopefully though, there are enough female voters that realize that all McCain is doing is pandering to our female genitalia. The scary part is, if they win, both Palin and McCain will be dictating to it too.
God bless you John McCain ! <333
