I was taught on one of those in the 80s; hill starting with a snatch change from 1st to 2nd was an artform, but so sweet if you got it right...

Conducting is bad enough, even for 6 hours! You go to bed hearing an O.600 in your head!

Truly superb. I note the date as the day after the Southdown Queen Mary 50th running day, which I attended with Car 277 (BUF 277C), where I was its conductor for the day.
It was that day - video was uploaded the day after - I think that location is Farlington Services!
