  • Holy crap! This video was not supposed to leak! Army will have the head of all downloaders of the 23 000 viewers. Wouldn't wanna be in those people's shoes

  • this machine is behind the "flying humanoid video myths" this is what it is. i am sure of it when the videos first surfaced i did all kinds of research and this is what i ended my results with the WASP

  • Holy fucking shit! We could have had cities full ot these things! God damn are we stupid... I would buy this thing right now.

  • My main question is what is the fuel?

  • Is there anymore videos of this thing?

  • @cabo02 a whole bunch. just search for "WASP Flying Platform" or "Flying Trash can".

  • I cant help but wonder how usefull this device would have been to rescue people off of the WTC on 911 if the Firemen had these devices. Its just sad the amount of money that goes into making machines that destroy but ideas and designs like these are shelved when you can clearly see its usefullness. Its a crying shame, but as the saying goes, we get what we deserve, i just thought we deserved better!

  • @good2btheking

Actually no, the wash would have interferred with rescue and the time airborne is very limited, however the forest service did show some interest for search and rescue if they could advance the air time and range.

  • Its 2010 and i feel like im stuck in 1960.Nothing has changed that makes life better.Real power and real research is in the hands of the corporations and military.Laptops and ipads dont make life better.Free energy devices and anti gravity devices do.This planet is fucked.

  • yeh why aren't these in you in 2010? if it had 30mins of flight in 1970 it should have 24hours now in 2010

what is happening to our technology.....where are these machines goddamit!

  • I want one lol

  • 68kg of fuel used up in 30 min of flying. That could be one reason why they're not available to the public. Looks hella fun to fly though, wish I could try one.

  • works on the same principle as the segway lean forward lean back

  • these are very real, if you think its a fake, go drink some kool-aid

  • I want one of these!!!

  • these look like th things in MGS3!

  • They *are* the things in MGS3.

  • Me wants the flying trash can.. and dress up like Lord Vader *wooh*

  • These units are not available for sale to the general public. Their not classified. This unit was retired to a museum.

  • why are these machines not made use of? if not the general public, I'm sure the military could find a use for it.

  • The Military bought the exclusive rights to the jet engine that powers the WASP. I believe they use it for missiles.

  • Correct - Cruise missile engines... however, some work is being done by private inventors to convert small jet engines into a similar idea... only problem is fuel efficiency!

  • im glad these arent available to the public.. as much as i want one, you don't know what they could cause :o

  • @johnhi00

Very true, early cruse missile engines, not to mantion didn't have the range they wanted.

  • i want one, green face paint, a witch's costume and a broom.

    i'll be right back.

  • This is it people. The future.

  • Actually, this is from the early 1980's. I remember reading about them back then in Popular Science/Popular Mechanics or some other such magazine.

  • i want one too!

  • i want one!

  • i can see this thing in the future like the space battle suits in animes :D

  • Yup, it's real, it's also real old. But works real good. Did I say "real" enough?

  • cool video, thanks for the post...

  • This looks like it's from an episode of the Aussie TV show Towards 2000. Great stuff. I remember seeing this.

  • its a fanjet engine powered craft , the first seen (& only)film clip of this is in 1989 on -futurescan -(machines of war) t.v. program , Williams air space platform W.A.S.P it has been given a battlefield designation by the us army in (1988)which means army is (was) considering it as a war machine range 35 mins , speed 70 mph, 10,000 ft max climb max carry 220 lbs driver, would make an excellant machine to beat traffic to work , its very stable , amazing quiet for a small jet

  • amazing, I've never seen anything like it, it doesn't look real
