  • @curban07

Same shape as the VGN-NW270F Thanks, I didn't see the tape at the bottom of the LCD...

  • is ur laptop sony vaio VGN-NW265F ?

  • hey is your screen in this similar to the vgn-nw20ef? i'm thinking about attempting this myself.

  • The proper way to actully do this is to remove all the bottom screws from the bottom case and unscrew the hinges attached to the main case and undo the wireless and disconnect the video connector inside. you shouldnt have to cut any wires

  • @bangulo2012 cutting the wire was not a big deal, as it was a completely unnecessary one, and just simply hard to get to.

sounds like the proper way is more work than it needs to be!

  • @curban07 Ive done about 5 or 6 of these models. some of them actually have screws on the bottom where the bracket is at so it wouldn't slide out as easy for some liek it did in this video. you would actually have to pull off the front bezel and unscrew the bracket. There is also a shock hazard on that wire you cut. it goes to the inverter board that holds a charge. The way i was saying takes me about 30 - 45 minutes.

  • @bangulo2012 good point about potential shock hazard... I removed the battery and unplugged the power, which perhaps should be emphasized!

  • @curban07 Unnecessary wires? Are you sure its not the wifi aerial that always encircles the screen on any laptop!!!!!

  • @harryGShunt Not sure what you mean... the only cables I encountered was the video cable (wide one at the back of the LCD) and the inverter cable at the bottom (red and white wires). Nothing's unnecessary, but the one you will replace anyway you can cut.

  • I have the same problem, and I need a screen replacement. I am wondering how can I find a screen that works with my vaio VPCEA290x , or can I just buy any screen with the same size. Thanks

  • @Abdullah19910 hey did u find out if u can replace it with any screen with the same size or....

  • Thanks for posting this, I replaced my screen today and was struggling till I found your video. I found the inverter cable very fiddly too. I put the white cable at the top as the one I removed was black and red with the black at the top. No idea if it makes a difference either...

  • The step between unscrewing the top screws and getting the top half of the screen case open (0:43) -- how did you do it? Did you just pry like crazy until it popped off, or was there some other step.

  • @tealeafkitty yeah just pry it apart. its only the screws holding it together. just start in one place, either the corner or the middle.

  • The little wire on the bottom is the inverter cable. It powers the screen and has a white and red wire. To remove the screen I just cut the cable; but replacing it took some time to reach properly. It got much easier after I found out I could unclip the plastic on the bottom and pull apart the plastic from a little more (but not completely). As for whether the red or white wires go on top... I just guessed. I don't know if it matters.
