I think Robert Englund's idea to do the "down and dirty" versions of the Brothers Grimm stories is an awesome idea. I would love to see this done either in the movies or in an HBO series.

I have to agreed with Robert Englund about the Grims Brother and Disney. Grims Brother stories were very dark and Disney's versions are just clean and nice....

I hope and think the the New Nightmare remake will be good but no way will it even touch the original Nightmare.The original cast especially Robert who has played Freddy all the way through has made piece with it and so should the fans

the guy on the far left played the doctor in the sleep center when nancy pulled the hat out of her dream, and the woman beside robert played nancy's mother the one beside the mother is a stunt woman and the sexy woman beside the stunt woman played tina the girl who gets it in the beginning of the movie

Not since scream has a decent horror movie come out. Saw is about Gore. I mean someone who snaps, puts on a mask and kills people. That died in the 90s. However I think Chainsaw and Halloween were the better remakes. I'll reserve judgement on this. I like the fact that jackie looks like a real burn victim

i say wolfman was a better horror than most horrors i mean ther were a few jumps in that film :)

Shut up! All of you who say that the new one will be better and Jackie's version is better! You people make me sick! As you can see, I'm a huge HUGE FREDDY FAN...I support the remake because Robert does and I follow him everywhere...but to say that Jackie as Freddy is better is sickening. NOES is a classic. I love it. But it does NOT compare to the original..NEVER WILL!

I agree.

The original series is indeed classic, but went in a horrible direction after the first one. Freddy was NOT meant to be a comedian or wear sunglasses (reference to 4). With the exception of 7, the series pretty much contradicted Wes Craven's original intent...although I did enjoy the third one.

They realize that movie making is just business and they won't waste energy on something that is out of their control. That's a sign of evolved thinkers. Unlike Shatner who was at first angry about the remake.

Don't get me wrong some remakes can be good..But not all horror movies can be pulled off with a modern twist. Nowadays horror movies have too many computer effects only rather the combination of a real plot with the effects. It was more simple back then that made movies more scary..I look down on the new horror movies now..

I think horror movies itself lost its originality after the 80's..Freddy & several other movies was innovative & had amazing stories behind it..But nowadays its about remaking films or taking ideas that had been done already.

AWESOME!!! Englund is a fellow TSCC and Dekker fan! right on! as a 40 y/o mom of two :0), I am an original fan and was already planning on supporting the YARM to support Thomas Dekker, his youtube to the TSCC fans was great. Glad to hear how the original cast feel about it...

What Heather said is exactly what I've been telling people. A friend of mine at work said, 'Horror movies aren't really known for their creative ingenuity and originality. All horror movies are the same.' I said 'What about A Nightmare on Elm street? A killer stalks you in your dreams, if he kills you, you die in real life. And you never really know if you're dreaming.' I think she said 'that's true' or something but nothing else.

Horror movies get the shaft only because mainstream tends to look down at it as not being as "important" or "vital" in the industry. But horror is one of the most psychological genres EVER. I think it's pretty cheap to write it off as being something that's clearly made for "horny teenagers with love of gore". Horror actually IS more than that. I think, like your friend, a LOT of people in, particularly this day and age, forgot what true horror is because the mainstream vision of it.

i know today's horror sucks back in 1990s and stuff with chucky and jason and this that ruled and people say horror is blood and gore but they say real murder and psycholigy is fasinating and stuff horror is the same thing but it's not real wouldn't that be better and fake stuff is more creative then what drives people to kill

@MagnaderAlpha thank you!! well said!! i also believe that horror actresses have to do more than a reguar actress. all that screaming, sometimes crying and putting themselves emotionally in a hard place. so if they do it good like heather langenkamp did and i think lisa wilcox did and get awarded for it.

i was at this and videotaped most of it , and then one of the staff said we werent allowed to tape this..but i love how there were no signs or any informing of it.. thats ok i got most of it anyways
