@kato233 yer, but that's different you do that for fun or for a challenge, on on the street it is real and ask anyone boxing will be the best in a street fight
for you people who get's into fights or think ur going to get into fight, judo is shit, learn boxing, quick and easy, say your on a bus tight space and a nigger want's to jack you, boxing is there
Oi. All martial arts are martial arts. If you are a boxer, I bet you, that you will lose to a judo person, karate person etc. etc. There is no dominant martial art. Stop beaking these people cause you like boxing more. If you threw a crappy punch, and held it out too long, you would be on the ground, if facing a judoka.
A quick google search bring up a load of results. Zenbu and the budokan judo club are apparently real good clubs to train at. I'd love to train at anyone of those. Good luck.
@TheMythTheMagic aw yeah i saw those on google, but they still arnt close to where i live. i found one pretty close to me, but it is normal to charge $3.50 per lesson and them not selling the gi, you gotta purchase it else where?
@f9hunter $3.50 per lesson is quite good i think. and i dont know of any club that just gives you a gi. they are about $90 for a normal gi and it will probably last you for years if you dont grow
@19thaman79 im from brisbane, Australia. At University of Queensland, if you pay for the year and train 3 times a week there, it ends up being about $3.35 a lesson. They dont supply gi's free though. where are you from?
Some people have no idea what they are talking about, there is no bad balance? The momentum will cause anyone to move forward if you dont throw uke. At the end you can see he means to rolls over he didnt full. Before you put people down why dont you post a video response of yourself doing the throw? One more thing all you people banging on about Kazushi look up Tsukuri because on its own Kazushi is useless, but I guess you already know that as you are all Judo masters. Muppets
unfortunately for me, uchi mata is not the best throw. Im really short... I must keep with seoi nages and other throws that I dont need a higher grab.
uchi mata was my favourite throw to do and it was very hard to do but it suited me well cos i have long legs, and this vid is great cos it shows that even the smaller lady gets the guy shows what judo is all about using the weight against them brilliant!
It's funny to me that all the people who posted negative comments don't have a video of themselves doing uchimata. Perhaps uchimata is not this fellow's tokui waza. Perhaps this fellow is only a shodan. It is not expected for a shodan to be highly proficient in all 67 throws of the Judo syllabus. Some throws are going to look better than others.
and we have this throw too but we are not that specific in throwing like the judokas...
when i try an uchi mata in randori my opponent just jumps on his right foot and then we both stand there with an lifted leg..
what am i doing wrong?
do i have to get lower with my head to the ground and my feet higher? i thought the throw should lift my opponent from his feet into the ground can you help me?: S
it sounds like ur almost there...if u have uki (the other fighter) on one leg then u have broken his balance. at that point just twist ur body and leg gravity do it's thing...krrp in mind this is one of the more difficult throws to pull off so dont give up
the leg work must be complimented by your body and arm movements... twisting your body and forcing your opponents body closer to your body and to the ground prevents him from jumping away from the attack... the leg's purpose is to throw him off balance, get him off his feet and force him on his back.. i had the same problem before... i had weak arm movements and so the uchimata never worked for me... also its best to apply this attack to a shorter opponent...
The most important thing: Your head rotation. When you turn. THROW your head in the direction of your throw. Your body will follow and so will your opponent's. Let me know what happens.
@droman30 well said. I know in my case uchi mata comes and goes and is certainly one of my weak points. but then again some days I can do it clean and perfect and other days I cant even seem to come close. people need to stop boosting their own egos by putting other people down on youtube.

nothing without hands-sais my couch-u must first to lift opponent on your hips with hands and pull him of the balance and then, while he's in air,do the rest
Uchimata was my brother's favorite. He would dump everyone. When I asked what his secret was, he said he'd pretty much whip his body through the motion to the point that if he's countered, he would throw himself. It always worked.
Three steps to any throw. Off balance, fitting in, then finish.Put all three together for your kodak moment. Uchi mata is ashi waza (leg technique) Try getting it off from O goshi with your arm around toris waist or grab the belt. I like to fake o uchi gari then turn it into uchi mata. Try gripping on one side(better be quick) Always get as deep as possible then reap. Experiment, see what works for you Lots and lots of uchi komi and you will be all right P.S. Be sure to learn uchi mata sukashi
I practice uchi-mata since I was a kid..there are four secrets:1)(right handed)right hand has to pull very closly to your body and never let go till the end;2)left hand has to basicly touch your left foot;3)the left foot HAS to be in between uke's feet so than the hips and the right leg can do the work;4)YOU MUST BELIEVE IN YOUR-SELF...at least that's what I do and most of the times it works out good!Ciao
yep...number 2 is the most important cause even if you enter badly it eventually does something..koca or yuko at least...but in 26 years of judo I'm still learning things so...if U have any advice in how on earth can I fix my ashi-guruma...thanks
bjj and judo arent supposed to be separate anyway, cuz they both came from jujitsu...try and learn both...like bruce lee said, take what you can from any martial art and use it...
i trained both BJJ and JUDO they're both lots of fun BJJ favours ground work and JUDO favours stand up, lets forget the debate: which is the best? who cares they're both good fun and keep you fit, so you could try and combine them!
