@sluhdave we had a huge increase (+100%) in iPhone and smartphone traffic and got write-ups in multiple QR and marketing blogs...a little free publicity never hurts. Have we linked it to a 20% increase in cars sales, No, but as with most TV ads it's hard to tell. It was aired in the first weeks each month, about 300 times, but the Youtube traffic has been way heavier and really skewed my ability to track exact usage. I will say we have gotten more hits from Youtube than TV though.
@whitedronnie thanks for the feedback...over 2000 people have managed to complete the task of pressing 2-3 buttons on their phone and holding it up to the TV in front of them. Also most folks with a smartphone have a DVR and DVR's record the show you are watching unless 2 other shows are being recorded at the same time...so pausing does work. There is also a buzz factor surrounding QR codes that we hit on as well. It shows we are tech savvy and cutting edge. PS this right up our Demos alley
This is incredibly dumb. I did a test, and attempted to scan the code in time. I was expecting it and still wasn't able to unlock my phone and open the ad in time. So, how is it that a random person is expected to do this while on the couch? You could say pause/rewind, but not everybody has that on their tv, and your target market would be one of the least likely to have it. Dumb dumb dumb.
@whitedronnie ...at the very least we did get you and 2500+ other folks to intentionally watch a commercial for a used car dealership with using scantily clad women, a cheesy give away or a funny puppet...so we'll take that as a victory :) Thanks for your feedback

So did the spot work? Was there a measurable increase in traffic? What was the airing schedule/frequency?
