  • being renovated as of june 2011

  • @colorblind101a whered you here that lie ???

  • im a graffiti artist i been in n out there tons of times no ghost bs

  • Since reagan we shipped jobs overseas so the superior among us can have more money, and all you poor folk like to blame each other. You have no drive like the people overseas and when we created libertarianism and conservativism and you people are too uneducated to vote against it. We wealthy thank you.

  • Eledgedly the station is haunted. (Makes me want to buy it, and live in it.) XD

  • Comment removed

  • Haunted? It's a train station that basically went vacant in 1988. Someone still owns the place, and it's basically a photographers attraction now. Haunted? no

  • is that a ghost walking by the window at :10?

  • i live in MI and i want 2 go to detroit sometime...just the old ruins

  • @bryanguy1 your an ignorant bastard, and no sweety i dont do drugs, but apparently you do because your a nigga putting your own race down! im entitled to post my opinon on the m***f****n site just like your retarded ass can, i dont know what your getting all bent out of shape for, if people had jobs, they would have something to do and there wouldn't be any crime or poverty you stupid fuck! im no where near in denial, you are because your too fucking confused to see how things came to be

  • Comment removed

  • @bryanguy1 and one of the reasons why detroit, cleveland, and parts of michigan are so fucked up is because of ignorant, lazy, know nothing ass niggas who can't take someone elses opinion, being an adult about things and leaving well enough alone, and get on youtube and talk a bunch of bullshit because they hate a certain race. im not about to sit on here and argue with a stupid monkey like you.do us all a favor and kill yourself you self hating prick!

  • @bryanguy1 and dont try to sound all intellectual on here and then send me trash in my inbox! detroit used to be a thriving city because it had jobs and money circulating through it, and it once was livable and it was mostly black back then, so you can't tell me that because negros live there, that it's the reason why it is now...think outside the box ignoramous, think of "HOW" and "WHY" and where did all start...there's a reason for everything stupid!

  • @bryanguy1 no one is in denial, your in denial to realize what really is and what really isn't, sounds to me you need to open your mind and your eyes a little wider honey just because an area is bad you can't automatically blame the black man, that's all white people know how to do is to play the blame game, if there is no jobs in the city, there is no money, and the city is unable to be maintained, which is why it looks shitty now...it has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH RACE!

  • @bryanguy1 that's easy for you to say because your obviously white, and we all know white people think they know every thing and do oh so much better than anyone on the face of the planet WRONG! and 9 times out of 10 you probably never even lived in detroit all your life, or lived there for a long period of time. it doesn't make sense for a white person to tell a black person who was born and raised in the detroit area to do research on something that you aren't

  • You couldn't pay me enough to go up in that building at night. People sure don't mind taking risks. How secure is the foundation and structure of the building anyway? I see some comments that state that there are missing stairs and uneven ground and some of you are talking about taking tours through there! Good luck & enjoy! I'm sure that this building was awesome at one time, which makes its current condition very sad to me!

  • @iantmasters, so bottom line all you are saying is that it's blacks fault that detroit is a shit hole right?, your such a fucking racist, and I think you should do your research again before you post bullcrap like that again. THE WHOLE REASON why detroit is in shambles right now is because of the downfall of the economy, there is no money circulating BECAUSE THERE IS NO FUCKING JOBS!!!!!!!!!!!!! when there is no jobs, there is no money, and no money means they can't maintain detroit!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • detroit is so run down in many parts

  • The Michigan Central Station was spectacular inside when it was still open. I remember it. It was comparable to NYC's Grand Central Station. Incresed use of semitruck & aircraft travel/shipping took to much business away from the railroads. The RR's need to become profitabla again & just may as automotive & jet fuel incrases in cost. Detroit will rebound in the coming years.

  • @christof139

My dream, hundreds of maglev stops in Detroit neighbor hoods,

a subway system also, like what LA have lost due to corporations.

the ability to have TRUE high speed train system of passengers and freight going to the different cites like Huston,NYC,LA!

we need to also get out of the green idea mind set, unless its green in the form of paychecks to workers who build the infrastructure of the 21st,and 22nd century of America!

  • @captinseperoth, Yes, you have the right idea. The GMC Volt is now being produced in Poletown, wind turbine parts are being produced here, alternative fuel research is at a high & very advanced level (building is just east of the Fisher Blng.), a large branch of the Fed. Res. Bank has been built, etc. More needs to be domne & it will take years to accomplish.

  • @christof139

the gmc volt is a joke!

Detroit should only build one car,and be ordered to build it the way as it is now without mods!

    Google

    from-canada-to-mexico-on-one-tank-of-diesel

(copy and paste it and dont remove the lines)

    and click on jalopink result!

Also why not build new plants to build pre-constructed power plants like France is doing, but thorium and fast breeder's instead?

Obama should do one thing only, have an 70 percent tax rate on all imported items!

  • @captinseperoth. After the near disaster of 3 Mile Island etc. & then the horrible disaster of Chrenobyl, people in the USA did not want many nuke power plants built. If a high tariff is placed on imported items then those nations whose goods we unfairly tariff will do the same to our exports to their nations & we will not be able to sell much of anything overseas. Extremely high tariffs are not the answer.

The Volt is just the beggining.

  • @christof139

    Chrenobyl happened b4 3 miles.

yet,why do we let poloticans tell us and limmit the way we run our countries?

    When not let the engineres?

its nearly impossible today for any catastrophe to happen to atomic power plants today.

uranium is not need these days, thorium can do the same job with far less fuel which takes about 100 years to break down vs uranium.

did you know clean coal power plants release more atomic waste into the environment than actual atomic power plants?

  • @captinseperoth, No, you're wrong. 3 Mile Island accident began at 4 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 1979 & the Chernobyl accident began on 26 April 1986. 3 Mile Island occurred BEFORE Chernobyl.

There were also accidents at Detropit's Fermi II plant in March, 2009 & in 1993, a turbine problem on Christmas Day led to a fire which resulted in the radioactive contamination of more than a million of gallons of water that was subsequently released into Lake Erie.

  • Comment removed

  • @christof139 stilt,id say we still need to widely adopt the newer atomic plants,it has been far too long, and we are lagging far to behind in the technology.

wind can only, hydro, and solar can only get so bar,and two ofut of those 3 choices are on a large scale unpractical,as they are too costly in resources, and land.

also if people are too wooried about cancer, why not ban smoking, coal ?

coal is far more dangerous than a modern day atomic facility.

  • @captinseperoth oops !!!

  • @captinseperoth uh it happened after the 3 mile incident which was in the 70's hence why you'll see PRESIDENT Carter there( just for those of you who don't know history carter was president from 1976-1980.)

  • @godzilla74114 actually, Carter was President from 1977-1981. He was elected in 1976 and defeated in 1980. Sorry to nitpick but I majored in History. Also, Carter appeared in the South Bronx ( I lived 15 minutes from that side...I lived in the Northeast Bronx ) when it was burned down and looked like Germany after WW2.

  • @Shelver92 true enough.

  • @captinseperoth famous last words as we breath radiated air from your nice nuclear powered insanity, especially when many suppressed technologies provide clean and free energy, but no they want to be in their controllers seat.

  • @christof139

im sick of this green fad.

people say its so cool and green to dry your close on the line, cus its carbon nutrual or bull shit on the lines of that.

reality is,its expensive to use the dryer, and people have been always drying their clothes outside since the invention of clothes.

    so no its not

    "green"!

build something that people will care for,on the wide scale....100mpg car that's not some crock of a design, and sell it for 20k new!

smart cars are joke in safety!

  • @captinseperoth states "im sick of this green fad. etc."

Good for your ignorant, uneducated self. Luckily you have no influence on anything important.

  • its actually pretty easy to get in if you know where your going. there is a opening on the street behind the station that goes directly under that platforms. mainly for bums annd such but if you got a flash light and know your way around you come up right innto the station and there is one stair well that you can make it to the room on. i have lots of pictures from the roof. its beautiful up there. you can see to pontiac.

  • Anything that is run by black folks ends up just like this!......please type in " PASTOR MANNING, THE BEVERLY HILLS NEGRO" in the search bar here on youtube

  • Ah, another artifact of twentieth century American socialism.

  • Wow fantastic Location !

  • There was made clip fot "beautiful" from eminem.

  • Take the Tunnel to Canada or coming back into the U.S.A. Don't take the BRIDGE! You will be giving money to the Billionaire Yes Billionaire! Matty Moroun who owns both the bridge and this train station.

  • albanians are not white... huhuhahahah.

  • @MrUncomfortableTruth thats a lie

  • Crossing the bridge into Detroit, you get a great view of the station. It's beautiful and intimidating. A lot of nice architecture in Detroit...but it's fading fast.

  • @codadog6 Are there bums in the station.

  • Friend of mine went there about 10 years ago to take pictures for a school project, and there were people living in there. My buddy said it looked like a scene from "Escape from New York"

  • ive been in there many times..its bad assss

  • when was that building last used?

  • January 1988

  • i use to pass dat like every week

  • I see it every time i go to canada. And im planning on going in there to check it out with my freinds.

  • i live 4 blocks from there and we werethere yesterday and me andmy friends seen some weird things it was creepy but ive onlyvenn in there 1 time and it was creepy

  • it's a shame that they let this building rot away like this. it's beautiful. are there any plans of restoring this building?

  • No we are the Motown not the Traintown

  • Comment removed

  • dude i used to drive by that everyday, until i moved, it always creeped me out, lol

  • I would really like to go into the depot sometime....does anyone have information about the best way to enter/exit? Are there many issues with police? Ive been outside the building before, and Im in AWE. EPIC infiltration!!

  • this place still there?

  • For now - the city council passed a measure to have it torn down, but because it's on the national register of historic places, it's been challenged. It's a shame to think that this amazing building is owned by a billionaire and it sits in this state...

  • I live about an hour and a half west of Detroit and every time I drive into D-Town on I-96, I pass this place. It is so imposing and so eerie, and I wish it could be preserved.

  • You are a disgrace to the race and people you claim to be so vehemently proud of ... My son is part East Indian, part 'whitey' what part of him would your thinly disguised proto-fascist 'rulz' dictate be 'cleansed'. I, like many others, oppose ALL supremacists whatever colour their skin, race, gender or ethnicity they espouse. During WWII people from ALL ethnicities died fighting people like you, filled with bile and poison. Hatred is self-destructive - it never thrives

  • thats awesome

  • ive heard a lot of killings are around there

  • yea right around 17th street

  • i been in t here. its the shit at night. if u go u need to have people with u cuz there are crack heads an other people running around in there. u can get in under a vydock were sheet metal is torn off and grafetti says troys house. the floor has holes in it and the stairs has missing steps. go all the way to the roof because its a beautiful veiw of detroit.

  • how do you get to the roof? its like 20 stories high

  • @goodness10 It's easy. Well, not easy.

There are stairs, but they're covered in debris and rickety. But it's worth it! The view is amazing!

  • @TasteOfTorment Is it hard to get inside? Honestly, I would love to bring my camera and shoot there.

  • @photojohne Yep. There's a barbed wire fence that totally surrounds the perimeter, you can go behind it, scale the wall and run over the tracks, but highly illegal and building slated for immediate demolition. The best you can do is outside the fence pics.

  • @Bottomless80Depths Cheers. Thanks for the info.

  • @goodness10 24 stories. its fucking hard dude

  • i want to go there. i can be there in 3 hours

  • looks very scary to me,downtown=ghosttown

  • dam fucking niggers i hate you guys for killing are history and are musuem.

  • Hey Hey Hey, there's no need for that.

  • I was referring to your language, not your point.

By the way, you have a really, really valid point.

  • Whatever hoe

  • I have heard of a person who wants to buy the station from the guy that owns it (M.J. Moroun)

and renovate it so that it can be used for some new type of transportation.

  • I would love to see that happend. I don't care if they have to fix it up and spend money i would love to see it as a train station and a bus station.

  • why did they close it down i love driving by there
