Poor Italy, Australia and France. They never escaped from siruis, cause there Sleeper ships were blown up. Actually, in the Discovery mod for Freelancer, France survived cause they secretly made there own Sleeper ship...wow, the Coalitions works went for waste when Sol was blown up by the Nomads...

Does anyone know how to record the cutscenes of this game on the PC? Fraps won't work because it only records the audio, not the video. I want to try to record all the cutscenes in this game (there are around 5-7).

fraps can record video.

I don't know if the PC version is like the dreamcast one, but a .sfd movie can be converted to mpeg.

I tried recording with Fraps while opening the movies with the ITAC. All you see is the ITAC screen while the audio from the movies play.

And if the movies are in the game files, I can't find them. I don't see any files with the .sfd extension, but I see a bunch of .bik files in this folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\StarLancer\INTER\ITAC

I think fraps can record if you play the game and let the movies play during the mission (not sure)

I play the dreamcast version and i was able to convert the movies from it with a sfd2mpeg converter.

Never tried to convert .bik files.

Yeah in the English version, they had the people say, Whats your name, and then he would answer and then if they had a bad rep, they would tell him that his rep is no good, and that he should leave, or that they had nothing for him.

In a way, this actually makes sense. But the dialogues in the german version were like you're communicating with one of those automatic voice systems on the phone (don't know the english word).

You basically got it, and yeah their were a lot of parts that they could have improved on for the other languages, but though, turning the game to german while playing, makes it sound way better. But I think thats just because im from the USA.

Freelancer was a completely different game because it was set around 1500 years later light years away from earth. It had already been 800 years since the long journey TO Sirius. Including the vast loss of information and then the vast re-invention of technology, it's gonna be drastically different.

Well FL is part two, but in reality no. The conceps of the games are very diferent. SL is a space sim, with more options on the ships control and fighting, while FL is more like a bit of everything.

Part 2 is Freelancer but an intereting thing I found was in a cutscene for the space game Conquest Frontier Wars. The scene were the Marines rescue the Admiral (you can view it on youtube) are the same Alliance Marines you see here in this citscene manning the wall. They have the exact same uniform, gear and weapons.

The reason for it is because "Conquest: Frontier Wars" is also a Chris Roberts/Erin Roberts project. They probably just re-used resources.

Freelancer takes place in the same universe, but that doesn't make it a sequel. Sort of like, X-Men and Spider-man take place in the same universe, but that doesn't make one a sequel to the other. Damn what Microsoft says.  A Sequel to StarLancer would continue THAT storyline, and preferably be a good ol' fashioned space combat sim. God I miss those.

I use that big laser the last ship has, you can actually shoot down a few of them before the cutscene triggers, lol

It's really cool, the only downside I used to complain about is that it's a straight line of fire, so it's really hard to master and actually hit something... at least it's a one-hit kill weapon so it's rewarding.

what's the range for example? is it a close range weapon or can be used to hit distant enemys?

It has quite some range. Not as much as missiles, but the laser will reach as much as your basic machine gun does.
